    Series 3 Swiss MOT fail!!!

Try to do what is posted. I’m sure you can buy the oil bath filter which is as designed by LR, but the metal elbow that connects the rubber tube from the filter is unobtainable. You’d have to scavenge one; not easy in Switzerland. eBay uk?

    Series 3 Drivetrain/Gearbox woes

Unlikely to be the drive train with those noises. I agree as posted it’s more likely a brake problem. Have you inspected the axle? It could be related to a collapsed or failing backing plate which holds the brakes against the axle.

    New distributor - coil meltdown

    Or a knackered coil

    Radiator Flush (no drain tap)

Series 3 Exhaust Manifold 2.25 Petrol

X2 if you’ve got a die set it’s definitely worth it. A new manifold is expensive. Have you got the brass set screws out of the manifold exhaust? Worth refitting them with the manifold out they are cheap to buy. With the manifold out you’ve got good access to the starter motor. In saying that...

    Oil Levels

Try either KINROSS 4x4 or GEM 4x4. The latter are in Larbert which is central Jockland just of various motorways.

    S3 Dumb Irons

Craddocks or Paddocks for sparepart. If you’re hoping to get a garage to do the work add another £5K for ****ing about labour. Maybe cheaper.

    Wanted 2.25 diesel engine

Possibly the worst Diesel engine ever. A bag of sheite invented as a supposedly logical follow on to petrol ⛽️ version. If you are considering a landy refurbishment get hold of a petrol 2.25l instead.

    Series 3 Backfiring or popping

    A replacement bottle jack?

I carry a 3 ton bottle jack for emergencies but prefer a trolley jack. The small point of contact and loading makes me nervous grovelling underneath or even changing tyres.

    YRM footwell holes

Bollocks. They are the holes for the external mud shields. So you need to order these too from YRM with the mounting brackets and screws. Britpart sell them but YRM are better. The fact you asked suggests your original ones have completely rotted away. I would recommend fitting them cos...

    Bonnet ?

It’d its a “deluxe “ bonnet with a wheel mount its simply a drain hole for water.

Series 3 Tidying up my sIII pick-up SWB petrol

Sorry if I sound negative. I think you’ll discover a lot more after 30 miles. It’s inevitable in an old vehicle but it’s a journey! Side light fittings cost £3.50 plus vat; I’d be more careful dealing with the dashboard wiring. Unless you’re comfortable doing it get done by a wiring mechanic...

2.25 Petrol Lightweight S3 not firing on all cylinders

Just had exactly this problem. Cleaned and reset points and plugs and changed the coil and condenser. Running great now.

Series 3 bit of advice on prepping my 72 s3 diesel for selling please

Don’t spend anything more on it, just sell it. There’s no point or added value in tinkering with painting etc. Value is in the eye of the buyers; it’s a proper landy and that’s how to sell it, let someone else spend another £4K on sprucing it up.

That’s an interesting vehicle, photos would be great.

    Intermittent ticking sound LR3

It’s the tappets. It’s normal that they tick loudly when the engine is cold. After it’s warmed up you shouldn’t hear them. If they are audible when warm you should check the tappet settings and engine timings. Do you have a workshop manual?

    Series 3 Tow bar

Oh contrare Bobsticle. As posted that’s the correct fitting for an adjustable drop plate. The angle iron is bolted underneath the cross member. I knows cos I paint it every year.

Series 3 Can't select High range 2WD (stuck selector) - FIXED

Your description just sounds rusted up. Easily said on line but it’s a common problem (me) m. I’d follow as posted advice to free up.

    Series 3 Passenger side window

Power cutter with a narrow blade and try to get above the nut. Even then as posted they’ll be seized with rust-bish bash bosh time with a hammer. They look badly seized.
