Hello again, my land rover again has developed a new characteristic, there is now a lovely ticking sound coming from the left side of my engine bay, it gets faster with the speed of the engine. I have only just heard it now, but others have mentioned it before, it's not all the time strangely. Anyone had anything like this before, or heard of it, did a Google but it's practically got a brand new cam belt on it. Cheers.https://solitaire.onl/ 9apps.ooo/ https://bluestacks.vip/

Welcome,
I presume it’s a petrol, Americans not so fussed on diesel?

Sticky valves? Few shots of injector cleaner and blast down the road won’t hurt if it’s not serious. Try asking int (Disco?) section :)

It’s the tappets. It’s normal that they tick loudly when the engine is cold. After it’s warmed up you shouldn’t hear them. If they are audible when warm you should check the tappet settings and engine timings. Do you have a workshop manual?

It'll be the built in , count down timer. Letting you know your green oval is about to give up the ghost ;)

could be the clutch packs wearing out. I've had this happen to my (locking) rear diff and it was a "clanking" sound. If you change out the diff make sure to change the locking motor too...they don't come new together.
