    P38A Leak!

Thanks Could be-I know I shouldn't-but I'm going to chuck in some rad-weld first. Then book it in to my local garage if still leaking. It's been a cracking car so worth spending a few quid on. Steve

    P38A Leak!

Bloody hope not! Will have another look-but seems to be coming from under the exhaust manifold-so HG a definite possibility! Still not too bad for 10 years (relatively problem free) service! Would like to get another 10 years out of it. Steve

    P38A Leak!

After 10 years mostly problem free motoring, I now have what I think is a coolant leak. It is definitely not AC as this has not worked for several years. The car is a 1999 4.6 HSE. The water is dripping from beneath the LH exhaust manifold. I have taken a picture. This picture is taken from...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Towed the tin tent home from holidays today. 60mph up hill and down dale. Had it 10 years and still superb. Battery is 11 years old and still going strong. 1999 4.6HSE. Steve

My sub did the same years ago-I unplugged it - forgot about it for a few years-then plugged it back in-now working! Steve

    towing with 4.6

Regarding snaking. When I first towed with mine the caravan never felt "right". It was a little jiggly-felt it sway a couple of times. Changed the tyres on the RR and from then on perfect. Tyres must have been old. Make sure your noseweight is close to 100kg, Steve

    towing with 4.6

Hi Mick, I've towed with a few petrols and never managed to beat 20mpg. The Range Rover seems to drop less mpg when towing than the others. It seems to tow best around 60mph-I've also got two kayaks on the roof and the car is so full we take the wifes car as well! Was going to change it for a...

    towing with 4.6

Morning all, I've towed with my 4.6HSE for over 9 years-caravan is about 1400kg. It does around 16/17 which isn't much less than a 3.0 Omega I had. You don't buy these cars for economy. Steve

    Tailgate Not Unlocking

Morning all, I had a similar problem - it started off when the car immobilised itself-the super person named Mozz sorted that out (many thanks again!). What I found with mine was the boot would not unlock until the interior lights had timed out-mine may have a problem with the bcm. I disabled...

    P38 front grille restoration

Morning all, This is what I used. It's been on the car for a year and is as good as the day I put it on. It's black not grey though. Forever Black Bumper & Trim Cleaner and Conditioner / Permanent Dye Kit | eBay Steve

Changed battery for new and now cant sync fobs or start the car!

Morning all, Had a similar problem a few years back-Mozz (the genius!)helped me out. One strange thing that I did notice with mine was that and the tailgate would not open on the remote until the interior lights had timed out. I disabled the interior lights and problem solved. The only issue I...

    Excellent replacement battery

Morning all, I know I'm tempting fate but my battery is 9 years old. I've recently started using one of those cheap solar panels (£18) which I put on the dash when not using the car. Even if left for nearly 2 weeks it will spin the engine over no problem (4.6). Steve

How Many Greasing points on the P38?

Afternoon all, Sorry to resurrect this thread but-decided to grease the nipples this morning on the p38-never done it in 8 years. Got underneath and could only find 3 nipples-thought it a bit strange-greased them up with the gun and then cleaned and put everything away. It then dawned on me...

    12 v socket in boot

Morning all, I want to put a 12 v socket in the boot of my Rangie. I would like it permanently live - it will be fused at 5amps. Is there any permanent feed in the boot area or would I need to run a wire from the battery? Regards Steve

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Replaced the front brake pads. Took nearly 2 hours! 1-Wheels stuck to hub-took ages to free them with my long piece of 3*2. Cleaned the rim and copper greased before putting back on. 2-Caliper nuts very rusty-cleaned them up with wire brush and file eventually got them out...
