Hi all,

I got a 1000 cca battery from ***.batterymegastore.co.uk/product/MF31-1000/

It was ordered on the phone after 1630, so I missed the next day delivery slot, and with me by 0830 the next morning, £99.95 all in :-D happy me!

Reason? The battery that it came with was from a mini I think. It really used to struggle to start and as it got colder I didn't want any problems.

Now when I turn the key it goes "whirr..........brummm!" instead of " errk...errkkk splutter chug chug chug".

Highly recommended by me.

Had mine for a year now, best item iv'e added this year.
Can leave it for 2 weeks or more and starts perfectly, before 2 days was pushing it without charging !

I know these cars are funny about voltage etc but since I fitted the new battery - no more clunk clunk clunk from the door locking while driving. Bizarre. hahahaha

cheers,

Hoppy

Fitted one of them last week and what a difference. Only downside was that company refused to deliver to home address so had to have it delivered to Glasgow (4 hours away) and then collect it. Apart from that a terrific service. Guess no one in the sticks ever needs a new battery?

U ever need anything else let me know
I'm in Glasgow but spend the weekends in Argyll

Had mine for 4.5 years now, car can be left 3 weeks and still spin like a top. The French branch certainly deliver to the sticks:)

Morning all,
I know I'm tempting fate but my battery is 9 years old. I've recently started using one of those cheap solar panels (£18) which I put on the dash when not using the car. Even if left for nearly 2 weeks it will spin the engine over no problem (4.6).

The locking issue could be the tailgate lock/ connections, may need cleaning:)

I presume it's a straight swap out - no special requirements or steps to replace the battery?

Mine is totally dead now so cchomping at the bit waiting for the new one to arrive!

I got one of those 2 years ago and it was brilliant for 6 weeks then it just packed up and as i was overseas with the car could not claim any warranty but when I got back I emailed battery megastore and have not had a reply.
If you read the conditions you have to send the battery back to them for testing and then wait for them to confirm that its dud before they even start to think about a replacement .delivery is quick but after sales service is not good from my experience.

Just so, my recommendation would be to source a battery from a local supplier to whom you can return, rather than from a mail order supplier. I have had good quality units fail within days in the past. Not very often but it does happen.

Trouble with that here in France is that a battery from the local factors costs at least 50% more and don't even think about taking it back, they don't want to know.

I have as well ,bought it 2/12 years ago ,few weeks ago kept going flat and would not keep a charge, phoned up battery megastore ,they said take it to local halfords and get them to check it (free)it failed,So sent down fail report from halfords as well as receipt, and they sent a new one out within a couple of days, and collected the old one at the same time, very happy with their service,:):)even after such a long time
