If it's a td5 auto check behind the clip on the side of the transfer box or any where it could have rubbed through the wiring loom and the wet is shorting it to the box causing the fault
Have you changed thermostat and it's been fitted wrong the dog leg should be facing engine block
Just a thought I've seen it done and it causes all sorts of issues
Absolutely amazing is all I have to say I've the turbo technics one on mine
It drives so different you wouldn't believe it's the same vehicle
Power starts really low down and just keeps coming economy is up as well
Check fuel line with green locking tab out of fuel pump it will have a tiny pin hole
Its the high pressure line so even a tiny hole will turn into a gusher
Check your front prop double cardon joint mine was doing the same went through all your checks and nothing was seeming to work then noticed when underneath that the Ujs where rusty further prodding found that one had failed and worn down to a tooth pick

I screwed long bolts up from the bottom while mines was off araldited them in and use nylon nuts on top to hold cover down and cut threads down so just enough for nylon to grip
Thanks for all the advise folks going to do the BMW coolant tank mod first to warn of any coolant loss then when fund allow silicon hoses and decent clamps
Fitted a standard pipe for time being and all seems well

After spending a kidney getting head gasket done the pipe from radiator to the thermostat picked it's bat and ball up and stopped playing so I plan to change anything I can get me fat fingers too any input greatly appreciated
