Have you jacked it up front end (if you are sure thats where the noise is from) turn each wheel and check wheel bearings and swivels for movement etc?

Welcome to the forum, search for Busters guides they are great...I took mine off when replacing a HS and a swivel...search for my write up as well...you need to ensure the half shaft is on the correct place to get the circlip etc back on correctly

could be knackered ball joints, but what I mean is the UJ on the column. Open up the bonnet and you will find one just below where the column comes out of the bulkhead and one further down closer to the PAS box

Thanks again James Nearly received everything to start the CV replacement and doing both Swivels as well while in bits...:rolleyes: In the manual it says use EP oil on the CV joint, but I can see some type of Grease on Busters guide......Is it a special Grease for CV joints or will normal High...

Well.....I have tested both front wheels seperately....both wheels spin! :mad: so does this mean diff or Both CV/half shafts ? anyway Friday night is BEER night and I am off to have plenty :D

Station, Guys...many thanks, :) have just tried as you said...so far have got to, (before I have had to stop to pick kids up from school!) 1) Difflock off...into 1st gear and jumped out....front prop going round :mad:, rear prop not moving.....so I guess the problem is with the front :eek: 2)...

Still not sure how to check which half shaft has bust however?!
