    Discovery II TD5 coolant pressurised

As mentioned earlier, I'm sure a newspaper or magazine was used. ;)

    Discovery II TD5 coolant pressurised

More annoyingly, as you may have noticed... The temperature sensor sits at the top of the coolant system, so if it runs dry, the sensor still reports as being normal temperature on the instrument cluster.

Cut 'em out and put 3mm box section in they're place! :D:D

Disco 2 I driver door lock

As for the pulling of the door handle twice, you'll probably find if you pull it hard once, the door opens. You need to adjust the rod length inside the door which controls the outside handle. Test, adjust, test, adjust. DO NOT put the card back on until you are happy with the operation, or...

    TC lock help

What do you mean by "TC won't lock up"? Do you mean the TC light comes on randomly whilst driving down a straight road?

    Discovery II TD5 coolant pressurised

The fan doesn't do much work when on the motorways, so although this is an issue, I don't think it's the underlying one. Have you taken the radiator off and run a hose through it? You should get a good flow. Probably better to fill it from the bottom and see how much overflows. Short of...

got a new toy but broke it

I think that you seem to be under the impression this is a permanent fix, which is never my intention. Its a get me out of the s**t bypass ;)

got a new toy but broke it

I know, but most of the fuses etc in there, I can get by without ;) The main ones are under the bonnet

got a new toy but broke it

Relays and fuses are easier to fault find and repair than a ruined BCU. And from my experience, a lot more resilient than ECUs. And before you mention that the engine ECU is mounted under the bonnet, it's not there anymore, it's up high in the cabin. ;)

    disco 2 td5 diff problems

Yeah, if it was the diff, you'd be going nowhere at all. Especially with no centre diff lock. ;) Glad you got it sorted :)

    Discovery 2 Wing Mirrors

Yeah, the glass is already removed, looks like you can buy the part that normally breaks when you remove it with the mirror on fleabay, suppose that explains why now, lol! The motor mechanism looks like it lines up correctly, but it's just trying to get the back cover off, haha

got a new toy but broke it

Sorry for not being as clever as you sierrafery. But yes, you can disable the BCU immobiliser with the tester, but you CANNOT turn off the engine ECU immobiliser without removing the EEPROM. OR, you can do what I have done. Which means if I screw the BCU up when wading water, I don't have to...

got a new toy but broke it

You have to send the security code and you also need to short the starter relay coil to ground. It depends how you have interpretted the code, it runs over a certain window

Disco 2 Testing for diesel in the oil?

I think if it doesn't smell of diesel, likely that it's not got any diesel in it, just keep and eye on it and see if it goes up anymore ;)

got a new toy but broke it

As for the push switch, you could have wired it to the key barrel so at least they'd need the key (even if not immobilised) You can buy a "Immo Spider" that is supposed to bypass this

No, why? EDIT: And yes, it definitely works a treat.

    Discovery 2 Wing Mirrors

Hi Guys, The late Disco 1 wing mirrors are a fairly close match to the Disco 2 wing mirrors, but the bit that mounts to the body is a slightly different shape. I have a D1 mirror assembly and Disco 2 assembly with a broken back cover, but I cannot for the life of me, figure out how to take the...

got a new toy but broke it

Did the same with my Disco TD5 :p Except I had to make an security code simulator to fool the engine ECU into thinking that the BCU was still there. :D
