Hi Guys,

The late Disco 1 wing mirrors are a fairly close match to the Disco 2 wing mirrors, but the bit that mounts to the body is a slightly different shape.

I have a D1 mirror assembly and Disco 2 assembly with a broken back cover, but I cannot for the life of me, figure out how to take the thing off without breaking it.

Has anyone on here successfully managed to change a back cover for a wing mirror on a late D1 or early D2?

Thanks

even if you can remove the insides i doubt that you'll be able to fit the D2 mechanism into a D1 casing and make it work too

You'll have to remove the glass first, best of luck with that, either the glass will crack or the plastic clips at the rear and fitted to the electric glass adjustment motor will break so basically writing off the mirror, of course you maybe able to remove the glass :D

Yeah, the glass is already removed, looks like you can buy the part that normally breaks when you remove it with the mirror on fleabay, suppose that explains why now, lol!

The motor mechanism looks like it lines up correctly, but it's just trying to get the back cover off, haha

I'm just about to post about some of these bits!
The main part is an STC4625 but the bit that I'm wanting a part number for is the little plastic blade that comes with mirror kits.. anyone know what that is?
