    ACE issues

Yeah just buy a 10mm hydraulic compression fitting joiner piece, and 2 olives. Cut the split piece out and replace with the joiner. Or remove a bigger section and use 10mm to 10mm female fittings on 3/8 hose plus 2 olives. I keep such a pipe and 2 olives in the boot!

    ACE issues

Are you getting the red light? If you are and the reservoir is full with no leaks plus you have good activity in the reservoir from the pump, it may just be a transducer issue. But codes need to be read on a Hawkeye really. If its the transducer, then its safe to drive. If! But you must have no...

    The start of many questions!

Crawl underneath and feel on top of the trans box nose section for the actuator. There should also be a hose connected to the EGR vac block thing next to the header tank.

Id say, dont press the brake when selecting R.

    Leaks Galore!

That one on the transfer box, is the transfer box. Likely hi low selector housing either seal on the shaft or less likely housing itself. Breather can get blocked forcing oil out of a weak spot. Not difficult to fix on D2 or Defender. The other ones is your pinion seal. Not hard to replace just...

Disco 2 A few issues proving difficult to resolve depite many new parts

Why not remap it now? You wont be a huge fan of the original torque converter i promise! Its too small and its like driving a speedboat or hovercraft in terms of revs to actual forward monentum. Im being unkind but the mid size TC gives a far better drive for the sake of a £200 remap. Post off...

Disco 2 Disco 2 Immobilised EKA Code

On nanocom its on the receivers menu, or similar. On hawkeye, pretend you are coding a key and it asks you to test the ‘plip’ (key), press your unlock button and if the RF signal isnt received it says ‘no plip detected’. Suspect a duff RF receiver in that case. Otherwise if it detects it, your...

Disco 2 Disco 2 Immobilised EKA Code

Have you done an RF test on the receiver in the roof? If not do one. If you haven’t got facility to do that, id buy a known used replacement and swop it as a first attempt.

    Common issues with disco 2

My D2 is easily the most unreliable car ive ever had. In 6000 miles its gone wrong very often. But i only use it to go to Tesco and the school, plus i like fixing cars. Good job eh. The list is endless of what to look for, but id look at your ACE pipes (if you have it), stop all water ingress...

    p38 v's disco2

Td5 manuals tune up nicely for towing, but most D2s have no difflock. P38 at least has a viscous coupler one. I got a D2 only because of 7 seats. Otherwise i think id have got a p38

You do need to follow the procedure exactly as stated in the handbook, so maybe double check the book.

    D2 vs FL2

FL2 is great on and off but its a different vehicle to a D2. You cant beat the D2s suspension setup offroad, and the FL2 can never achieve the articulation and traction that a D2 could. But for green laning and muddy fields, a FL2 is very good. They are good on road too. Get an SD4 auto, very...
