Looks like it might work but your gun will be on display. Everything I’ve heard tells me to keep it out of sight.

    200 tdi injector pump timing

There’s a guy on You Tube called Britannic Restorations who does a lot of videos on 200 & 300 TDis. You’ll have to search his channel for a video on 200 timing.

Disco 2 Can anyone recommend a good source for a Key?

Yes, I was aware that the local shop can cut keys but I’m also wary of cutting a new key from a very worn (and bent) original. Surely better if one could be cut from the original code. I’ll give the MD a look for that code, thanks.

Disco 2 Can anyone recommend a good source for a Key?

Have you used these guys yourself or did you just search for them? Any idea how to get a key code so they can cut the key remotely? They mention a vehicles security card but is there another way to find the key code?

For Sale Breaking Discovery 2 TD5

Good question. I’ve been trying to sell it but no one wants to pay a reasonable price. I think eBay makes people think they can get a good 4x4 for £1k. In reality, they get a money pit. Trying to sell this has been hard work and it’s a shame to break, but it is what it is. By the way, I didn’t...

Blades Direct reasonable quality or avoid?

As predicted, here's they reply from the company... "The wiper blades supplied is actually a better quality item from Allmakes as the Bearmach wipers are temporarily out of stock with the supplier." If they're out of stock, why still advertise it? If you want to send an alternative product...

Blades Direct reasonable quality or avoid?

Yes, I understand that Bearmach puts their name on stuff. I think they have stuff manufactured for them don’t they? Which enables some quality control, as Bongo says. This blade cost me £6.30 delivered, which isn’t much but do I complain on principle of being sent something other than what I...

    none start TD5 after rebuild

I’d say yes. I’ve spent ages trying to start, running purge after purge thinking that there was still air in there but when I hit the sweet spot on the timing, it fires up immediately. I realised then that one purge should probably do the job - unless you have other problems, and it’s just then...

    Peterborough -ish

I bet the family are well chuffed with the move! I myself live in a shack beside a field. When I brought my wife here, (she is a city girl), it took her three years to get over it. Actually, I think she still resents me sometimes.

    none start TD5 after rebuild

To purge the fuel lines you turn ignition on, don’t try to start. Then pump the throttle 5 times quickly until CEL starts flashing. Then go and make a cup of tea. It will take a few minutes to complete the process. However, I found that having the timing set correctly (for my engine it’s...

    none start TD5 after rebuild

I would loosen the bolts on the cam pulley and retard the crank a tiny bit. It can be really hard to start if it’s not in the sweet spot. A mm here or there can make a lot of difference. Did you run the purge process?

Millers extra cool coolant additive in td5

Isn’t that what he was doing? The factory settings let it sit in the middle when the real temp is between 65 and 115. The standard temp gauge is a waste of time since the moment it starts to move upwards from centre you’ll see steam coming out of the bonnet at the same time.

Blades Direct reasonable quality or avoid?

I’m getting tired of ordering a specific brand of part and being supplied with something else. I have ordered a Bearmach rear blade from OffRoadRovers on eBay and have been supplied with a Blades Direct item. What are your views on whether it’s a reasonable replacement or did standard to...

    Engine locking

It does sound ike a transmission problem, espescially since you were towing at the time. Hold the clutch in and try it again. If it starts with the clutch in then releasing the clutch is probably going to make an awful noise and is maybe a broken layshaft in the main box. Having said that, if...

What have you done to your Landie today.

I rebuilt the steering pump on my D2. The old one was leaking a bit so I have replaced the bearing, oil seals, O rings and gasket. Not exactly cheap for all the bits but better than paying for a new Chinese one.
