Thanks for that info. There's a company up here in Aberdeen that will do it. They are ex land rover mechanics and have a great reputation. I'll call them on Monday and see what they say. What oil would you recommend for the transfer case?

I know a guy with a snap on diagnostic tool, but not sure if it can do it. Does a lot of oil come out when solenoid is taken off the case.

Yeh that's the one I'm testing. Took off connector and tested the contact pins. Still 0 ohms.

Yeh defo the correct wires. So the plug that goes onto the motor. Check the connection on the motor itself. If its 0 ohms, then its the motor that's the problem?

OK sussed it now. Never noticed the pin numbers on back. Rechecked and its 0ohms.

When Phil said pins 9 and 12 on ecu, I presume he meant the transfer case control module

The reading is 0.166 k ohms

I'm not clued up with this sort of stuff. Not sure if it was correct pins I was touching. I'm sure it was.

Phil will a new ecu be a plug and play? Or will it need to be programmed into my car

Electrics are not my thing, not got the patience. So please excuse the questions and my ignorance. Thanks for all the info guys.

So if the resistance test comes back within those parameters, then the solenoid motor is OK?
