LOLSounds like it was designed by a committee that never met
Maybe, check to see if you get a resistance reading from either pin to the case.So if the resistance test comes back within those parameters, then the solenoid motor is OK?
As a short circuit in the solenoid wiring is given as a possible cause for both these error codes, it might be worth checking this out first, including testing the resistance of the solenoid itself.
A resistance check between terminals 9 & 12 at the (largest) ECU connector (when disconnected, obviously) should give a result between 0.2Ω and 10.0Ω.
In case you thought you might remove it, note that the solenoid must be energised for it to be removed/replaced otherwise you won’t be able to engage/disengage it from the shift fork.

That reading is 166 Ohms which is not correct, should be between 0.2 & 10 ohms according to Phil.View attachment 208580 [GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
You need to be very sure.I'm not clued up with this sort of stuff. Not sure if it was correct pins I was touching. I'm sure it was.
Yes,, the k denotes 1000, so 166 ohms with the k removed.The reading is 0.166 k ohms
No, the chart Phil published clearly states "Solenoid resistance"When Phil said pins 9 and 12 on ecu, I presume he meant the transfer case control module
