Warning Beeps - Gearbox Overheat !

Ok, I'll check all the wires and connectors that go to the gearbox.

Warning Beeps - Gearbox Overheat !

Every now and then I get the warning tone from the dashboard, it really is rare, but until recently, there was no associated message with it. Now it has just started doing it with the message "Gearbox Overheat", it only does this in the first five minutes of running and could not possibly get...

    Nanocom Evolution

Oh? I have been reading through the posts and it seems this one is the one to go for - a little expensive, but everyone likes to get a bit knocked off, a few % would be great. Thanks for the info. Paul

    Nanocom Evolution

I'm sure that I read on here somewhere that there is a discount for Landyzone members who want to purchase a Nanocom. I want one for my 2000 Model P38 4.6 Motronic. Anyone know the promo code, or how I get discount? Regards Paul

    Shaking

I will get it up on some ramps and get a lever into all the suspension rubbers and joints. As I said though, I have done all the bushes, I suppose one could have failed. I'll check the balancing and the tyres etc.... I haven't done the steering damper yet though, that can come off for a check...

    Shaking

Some time ago, I was driving along a dual carriageway at about 50mph, I hit a large pothole and the steering / front end started shaking like a wheel was about to come off. I pulled over, had look round, everything looked fine. It was almost like the shock absorbers were not there when it...

    Fan Mod

Final update on this one! I returned home from 4 weeks in a very warm France having towed my large, heavy twin axle caravan for just over 2200 miles. As I said earlier in the post, everything on the engine is fine and mainly new, so there shouldn't have been an issue. But I wanted to protect...

    AC Pipe horrible noise!

I wouldn't use metal coat hanger wire to do this as there could be several issues. The pipe is aluminium, wrapping mild steel wire, a dissimilar metal, may well start to cause corrosion of one or both of the metals. A mild steel wire wrapped round the aluminium pipe that is vibrating could in...

    rswsolutions trouble

I also remember in the dim and distant past that COM Ports on a PC do have some shared resources. COM1 and COM3 used to share things as did COM2 and COM4. Check to see which port you are using and then check that nothing is using the related one e.g. If you have picked COM1, check to see if...

    rswsolutions trouble

My 2000 model V8 had a badly corroded OBD Port due to the air con drains being blocked and water dripping through the socket. This was causing all sorts of trouble for my EAS software and other diagnostic kit. I sorted the drains first, then went to a scrap yard and found a couple of more...

    Tyre Pressure

I go for a nose weight of 85Kg and try not to put too much in the boot as the LPG cylinder is in the wheel well, the spare wheel is in the boot and a bag of tools. I put a chest style fridge in the boot, one of those that runs off 240v / 12v /gas with a few drinks in for the day, everything...

    Tyre Pressure

I'm sure it has been covered before, but I have done a forum search and can't find anything? I have a 2000 model 4.6 and am towing a big twin axle caravan. What pressures would you chaps put in the front / rear of the RR?

    engine re-builds ??????????

Mozz I had one from Turner Engineering, it was more expensive, but worth the cost as the LR supplied oil pump that they fitted to the short engine failed after about 8,000 miles. Following 1 email. Turners did everything, they negotiated with my local garage and covered the cost of everything...

    7 Seat Conversion

Saint, yes, I agree. The seat itself was in excellent condition and is the same leather as my car. It was a bargain on eBay without the belts, I didn't really need it but have the patience to wait and stumble on some. It is currently safely stored in my garage, and will be one of those things...

    7 Seat Conversion

I am trying to track down the seat belts for my extra rear facing bench seat in the boot of the P38. (The one that makes it a 7 seater, it is a LR original) I sourced the seat via eBay, but no seat belts! Can anyone help?

    Fan Mod

As I posted the original question, here is the position for me. I did the mod on Monday. My radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses, engine block, crankshaft, pistons, camshaft, oil pump etc... are all new. Over the last three days I have towed my large twin axle caravan across France with...

    Fan Mod

Some time ago, I saw a post from Datatek, I think!, that showed how to add a little extra cooling from the ac fans. I bought the parts but never got round to doing the job. Anyway, I'm off to the Dordogne tomorrow with my twin axle caravan and I see that France is rather hot at the moment...
