P38A Dreaded EAS fault (Max 35MPH) is this going to empty my wallet ?

Well, I rebuilt his original pump with new seals and what not. No faults found so I can't tell if the pump just kept running because it was gubbed or if there's another issue. It climbed to height just fine after the rebuild so here's hoping. Bob and his family were absolutely lovely, despite...

P38A Dreaded EAS fault (Max 35MPH) is this going to empty my wallet ?

OK chaps, pump runs for ages, switches off then runs for ages again. I've reset the warning, swapped for a good pump and she's working. However, very slow to rise and the pump just keeps switching back on. No leaks found. The original pump was sticky with some kind of hard grease so I...

    So After All That...

I may have told myself to FOCUS :p When I installed the new wire, I discovered I had routed it wrong o_O I went over the engine mount, when in fact I should have gone under! All those doing a starter or engine out/in need to be aware....

    So After All That...

Well. All my hard work was almost for nothing o_O Coming back home today after a test run (no overheating or any other such nonsense....) and the car just died on the way up the hill  Nothing! No power, no engine, nothing! So I set the parking brake and got out. Then I...

    So After All That...

I have tried  to explain to her indoors that after all the effort of fixing it, I should hold on to it a bit longer. After all, who's to say a more "recent" car wont be any worse? o_O

    So After All That...

Thanks Tricky :) It's funny, my gran's neighbour had a son who passed when I was a kid, but she kept his motor scooter outside the house (she lived upstairs and there was a bit of path between the doorways where his bike sat for many many years and I used to be allowed to play on it, imagining...

    So After All That...

We, you know when you take the old engine out in parts, then drop the new engine in almost complete (but had to leave the inlet manifold off because you have awkward wiring for the LPG....) and find you have to undo things to allow for things and stuff o_O That made up most of my day :D I'd...

    So After All That...

Figured out what was wrong with my bonnet stays.... the springy thingies were in the wrong place (different bonnet). I moved them, undone the struts and she was wide open  Made a difference while searching for plugs & wires down the back of the engine :) So got her lined up, wiggled the...

    So After All That...

Doesn't that involve undo Doesn't that involve undoing the stays and hooking the spring clips onto those little button things? Thought about it, but was worried I would mess it up. I know how to use a ratchet strap, but never used the service mode...

    So After All That...

Been in a lot of pain last few days, even my fingers and thumb on 1 hand o_O It's part of being diabetic  Something to do with build up of collagen... So I got my arse in gear, grinned and bore it and last night, slowly, methodically......shat myself in case the crane shat itself...

    P38A Crankcase seal

The front seal is slightly more involved than the rear since the rear can be forced out with a (in my case) gasket scraper... The front seal, I drilled out using a 1.5mm drill bit, then screwing in a 2mm self tapping screw and pulling the seal out with a vice grip holding the screw and a rubber...

    So After All That...

Ol bit's o' wood bawss :D When you have old beds from a caravan, they have to be of some use.... Strong as hell though! I have to pull that bench over lumps on the floor and it is still holding together o_O

    So After All That...

It pished with rain most of the day, so I went and did a few bits & bobs. Got me a 5ltr flask of OAT coolant an orl o_O Did this in the garage, then came home to vegetate  It's all so much fun  :p :)

    So After All That...

The thought had occurred. But there isn't (wasn't) enough oil to suggest it was actually damaged. I'll soon know if it starts leaking again, but I'm pretty sure it wont.

    So After All That...

...bloomin' carry on with my low mileage engine and blown gaskets, I got a replacement thanks to Wazz and BFG. It's been a slow process, but coming along nicely. Before we removed the lump, we did a compression test. All cylinders gave this result or within a few psi. All done dry. Had to...
