Item 272726482487 if you have a delivery address, I once had a clutch kit sent to a caravan site in the middle of France when the drive plate shed its springs.
Where’s that item number from ?

im on one last place
And then it’s gonna be a bumpy ride home

OK chaps, pump runs for ages, switches off then runs for ages again.

I've reset the warning, swapped for a good pump and she's working. However, very slow to rise and the pump just keeps switching back on.

No leaks found.

The original pump was sticky with some kind of hard grease so I think it was leaking. I also think the pump I put in is also ready to fail so am going to rebuild the original. I have parts...

I'll be back

Some people put vaseline in when they replace the seal.

Well, I rebuilt his original pump with new seals and what not. No faults found so I can't tell if the pump just kept running because it was gubbed or if there's another issue. It climbed to height just fine after the rebuild so here's hoping.

Bob and his family were absolutely lovely, despite the Highland weather freezing them solid

Hopefully they'll get home without any issues and get it checked out at home.

Thanks again Bob

Nice one, Doo. You're a legend.

Not at all. I felt bad for the poor chap having been there myself.

I had the parts so it made sense to rebuild the pump with new parts. I'm not sure if it has another issue causing the pump to keep running or was it just the fact it couldn't build pressure...

I gave him a spare pump to take with just in case...

All sorted as above, thanks to Doo being fabulous.

cannot thank him enough, and all of you for rallying round with help and advice.

I’m sure this won’t be the end of the issue but it’s a good start :)

and it feels good to be part of such a lovely community of like-minded souls !

cheers

Bob

Nice one Doo, did you take the 4.0? :)

Yes, ages ago. It's in and running with new Crank seals each end. Purrs like a tiger :D And sounds like it's supposed to  I'd got so used to the misfire that I forgot how rippy it's supposed to be

And... It gets to 70mph, you put the foot down and it launches forward like you're doing 30mph, just seems to want to keep going and going!

Anyway, this isn't about me, it's about Bob. Glad to have met you and your family Bob. Delighted to have been able to help and thank you for your contribution to my "save the P38 fund" (beer tokens :p) it is greatly appreciated.

Start safe :)

Well, your help was worth far more !

we got as far as Tyndrum before it croaked but just bumped the last few miles.

clearly some further investigation needed.

mom about to get some Schrader valves ordered to arrive tomorrow, anyone have any particular recommendations of which to opt for or any to avoid ?
-and, I know they’re pretty identical, but am
I looking for 6mm or 1/4” ?

rhanks again

Bob

Damn! I was afraid of that. Looks like it's running on far too long. But you'll need it on a proper code reader to tell you why. There's obviously a problem with the valve block sensors or the wee ecu in the valve block. There's no leaks obvious and she went up well enough so the tank is holding air. I think someone with more in depth knowledge might suggest why the pump is running all the time with a break for a few seconds in between.

Aye,

well, emergency valves ordered from Brit-car.

I’m going to make the OBD lead tonight and have a look with the EAS suite to see whether I can reset it.

I do have a spare valve block and, concerningly, a couple of spare EAS ECUs which I’ll look at cleaning up and refurbing. I’m sure there’ll be a guide somewhere. There’s no saying that the valve block isn’t full of the same gunk that the compressor was !

I want to check the tank for leaks and probably change the drier. I guess i just need to work through it methodically
