Disco 2 Oil leak and identifying the part

Here' a question. What is best way to clean the engine to make spotting oil leaks easier. Especially being able to see where they come from. Watched a few vids on this, one was on a landy and they wrapped all the electrical connectors, fuse box etc in plastic, sprayed the whole bay with Gunk...

Disco 2 Oil leak and identifying the part

Mine was leaking and it turned out to be just the camshaft seals.. there just plastic caps at the top of the engine, one front one rear, they are the easiest things to change, just pop out the old pop in the new, rear on is a bit of a bugger to get to though.. heres a pic of the front one

My 2001 D2 has a constant fairly loud whirring noise from the rear of the vehicle.. Welding

Ha ha no offence taken at all, when i teach live it's nothing like the video, I think i was concentrating too much on the camera and thinking about not messing up to relax. so shorter a bit more oomph and maybe split the subject matter into separate videos if a big subject. great i have...

What started your Land Rover obsession?

My story starts when i was very young, I grew up on a farm, not a working farm though, the huge stone barn was converted into a small factory where my father ran his farm machinery business following on from my grandfather. If anyone on here is a farmer you may remember JWT Weston tankers which...

    Disco 2 Leaking coolant!

My Disco has modern after market stereo so i dont has that problem, yes yours will need the radio code if disconnected from the battery. Maybe you should consider a new radio because disconnecting the battery, or a flat battery is gonna happen at some point and you will be without tunes. Nige

    Disco 2 Leaking coolant!

Reading the post you put a link to and looking at your problem I surmise that when the screw was fitted in the factory the rad was new and so was the plastic. Taking that screw out which is a self tapper then replacing it, if you don't get it to screw into the same threads it originally cut when...

    rear spring conversion or not?

Great replies from everyone and a good debate, guess the "Keep the air" vote wins... My last D2 was a 53 plate GS auto facelift model and had air and working ACE, and i travelled all over Europe in it over a 6 month period including an epic trip to Ibiza towing a fully loaded trailer and the...
