+1 for this idea, you need to eliminate the tyre, if it's still there with spare on could be wheel bearing which has a flat spot maybe that causes the noise when under load.. also I would jack up the wheel from under the axle so the suspension is NOT dropping.. could it be something on the wheel...

Ok so my 2001 D2 ES auto has ACE fitted but it has been disconnected but not removed.. It has anti roll bars front and rear and it actually corners quite well (not as good as my last D2 that had working ACE) so I think I can safely presume who ever disconnected the ace added standard anti roll...
