    Help

It's all relative, I've changed shocks, springs, wheel hubs and bearings, drop links, discs, brakes, water pumps, crankshaft pulley, rads, intercooler, starter motors, door locks, etc, etc, etc... many of those jobs quite technical and labour intensive but I would not say I know enough about...

    Transmission fluid - Disco 2

What you don't want to do is... check to see if your Allen socket fits, then, since you're under there, check to see if it will loosen the plug, then when it does, keep turning it, all the while forgetting you haven't started the engine... I'll never forget to start the engine again...

    Head gasket failure? Help

Don't waste your money mate, steel seal etc will likely stop a coolant to air leak in a head gasket but not a cylinder to coolant leak. Shop around and find a decent landy specialist who won't charge a fortune.

    Head gasket failure? Help

That's why I said "in part" because in some cases, once the head gasket is coming to the end of its life, it can allow sideways movement of the head, accelerating the demise of the gasket and possibly allowing damage to the head/valves etc. If plastic dowels are not an issue and serve no purpose...

    Head gasket failure? Help

The bad news is, it is highly likely to be HG failure, having experienced two myself on both D2's I've owned at roughly the same mileage. All the symptoms you describe. The good news is, both were repaired, the heads being skimmed and a new gasket installed. Talking to my local landy repair man...

Td5 fuel problem, pulling my hair out ☹️

One thing I haven't seen you mention in this thread is the fuel filter. Someone earlier mentioned the fuel filter housing being a cure for a similar problem but you seem to have ignored that advice. Have you even changed the filter itself? (The one under the offside rear wheel arch). Start...

lucas power steering stop leak For ace leak?

I'm not familiar with the RR ACE system but if it's anything like the Discovery ACE system, it goes up to about 1800 psi, so no amount of magic fluid will stop that leaking...

Seized hub nut - heat it?

3/4" breaker with scaff tube, touching or near the ground in direction of travel, then 1st or reverse gear depending on which side you are doing and drive slowly off... Mine came off with a 1/2" breaker and an old trampoline pole over it (it was bending like fook without it) then I stood on it...

    Elaborate scam?

Sounds to me like a very basic 'ringer'. If he knows a dodgy car dealer or scrappy, he can get a v5 and some plates made up and transfer it to a stolen car, then actually use the car as a temporary 'disposable'. He racks up a few parking and speeding fines, as ANPR will identify it as legal...

    Disco 2 Vibration!!!!

The squeak is a common symptom. Look at the damper with the engine running, if it's failing, you'll probably see it wobbling around. I decided I should do mine sooner rather than later and this is what I found...

    L322 Headlight issue

No, I said, as far as I'm aware, if it was a ballast pack, one light wouldn't work and it can be confirmed by swapping them about and if the fault follows the ballast pack then that's the problem. In this case, both headlights are playing up randomly. They both come on but not necessarily at the...
