HEVAC - Probably won't care in 6 weeks

This old thread says 10mm. http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f10/p38-air-con-belt-adjustment-53654.html Bloomin' FEDEX only arrived 5 mins ago so it will be a job for tomorrow. Still a bit worried about the torque. I'm going to old fashioned and work on about 1/2 inch movement per foot of belt...

HEVAC - Probably won't care in 6 weeks

Had a look at RAVE. The allen key used to adjust the tensioner pulley looks like quite a big boy. Any idea of its size and what does six pound foot feel like as I won't be buying a mini torque wrench for a one-off? G~

    keycode lockout

Seem to recall that when it starts speaking French, insists on being called Fifi, and smells of onions and garlic, it really means "Can I have a decent charged battery please?" G~

HEVAC - Probably won't care in 6 weeks

We'll see but, in a roundabout way, it might be a pointer as to how to get an evacuation and recharge for not too much money! G~

HEVAC - Probably won't care in 6 weeks

Right. Now back at home and considering the knowledgable responses. Before exploring them further, I think that the lack of a drive belt might be my first port of call. :o:o:o G~

Newbie Questions (Front Shocks & Tuning Chip)

Others will give you chapter and verse but I really wouldn't fancy that at motorway speeds. I think that the EAS limits that sort of height to speeds under 50 kph, around 30 mph. I'm guessing that the designers did this to avoid falley-over syndrome. G~

HEVAC - Probably won't care in 6 weeks

It refilled OK. Just no cold output. Having the orange light on didn't help but still cool not cold when I got in. G~

HEVAC - Probably won't care in 6 weeks

Had a re-charge done yesterday. Free of charge because it didn't work. However, the book symbol has gone. It must have passed pressure testing etc on the Kwifit super machine. There is cool air but not the icy cold we seek. My simple mind is saying compressor. Under bonnet pipes are not...

Down in the bumps - EAS

Thanks to Wammers and Grrrrr, it is fixed. Getting that bloomin' clamp ring of the piston took some doing. Very quick to rise now. I'd also like to thank my agent, my lovely wife and children and all of you who took the time to read this when you could have been doing something more...

    for sales

You could start a thread asking whether P38 diesels or petrols are better. Answer each post and you should be OK before lunch tomorrow. G~

Down in the bumps - EAS

Probably only 4 miles or so. It is a worry though as my wife is already suffering from the ailment that you describe. Looks like a minicab for her - which will be as costly as the service kit. I've not had problems with the EAS previously (other than bag replacements) so am hoping that it is...

Down in the bumps - EAS

I've unexpectedly joined the EAS compressor club. Using Wammers guide, insufficient output from compressor. I can't lay hands on a service kit today. If I drive on the bumps with no compressor fitted, am I going to be treated to a whole lot of beeps and messages? Nanocom was not registering...

    4.6 vs 2.5 tdi

It's a silly argument anyway. Both are good vehicles with problems. It's just aspiration. Diesel? A bit pretentious because you wanted to be a farmer or an explorer. V8? A bit pretentious because you wanted to be one of the Spice Girls. G~

    Rear indicators

Now, it's funny you should say that. I looked today and have clear lenses :o. The rear lamp clusters are something I really don't like on P38s so I suppose I've instinctively ignored them. The front clusters had anber lenses, not sure about the rear. The bloke I bought mine from made a big...

    Rear indicators

MOT fail yesterday on exhaust. Fair enough. First one in over 8 years. I got a couple of avisories as well. One was white visible in rear indicator clusters. Tester said to replace the bulbs with amber ones. It seemed a pragmatic low cost solution. Might be of use to others. G~

Nasty moment. Delivered by Fedex marked "Joint Drag Link". Thanks Russian Microcat. It is the same part number as the track rod end. G~
