Hi all,

I am :))finally:)) a first time Land Rover owner and have a few questions regarding my recent purchase.

The vehicle is a 2001 Range Rover County Auto with the BMW Diesel engine. It has done about 72000 miles and has got the following modifications:

  • Air suspension changed to standard coil spring with increased height
  • EGR blanking from Allisport
  • Chip tuning from EPC
The front shocks are in need of replacement, but since the suspension height has been increased I am not sure which shocks to buy. I have attached a few pics, hope you can give me some advice. The current shocks are Old Man Emu N44. I have searched quite a bit regarding a DIY replacement but could not find anything specific. Is there anything I have to be aware of when changing the shocks myself?

There is some sort of tuning chip installed from EPC Tuning that is supposed to increase power and reduce fuel consumption. Engine is running very smooth, pulls great and I get 23mpg (30% motorway). Is this a normal consumption?

Thanks for taking the time...

Regards,

DaniBo

Others will give you chapter and verse but I really wouldn't fancy that at motorway speeds.

I think that the EAS limits that sort of height to speeds under 50 kph, around 30 mph. I'm guessing that the designers did this to avoid falley-over syndrome.

Better get a roll cage fitted:eek:

Keep a eye on the front propshaft it will be running at ridiculous angles. Not something i would like to drive on a winding road at any speed. Another perfectly good P38 ruined. More power or economy you can't have both at the same time.
