    Suspension Removal/ Replacement

I have Britpart standard height springs and their yellow gas shocks on my 90. When I fitted them, I also fitted the rubber spring isolators to the top of the springs. I’m really pleased with how it rides. I do all my work on my drive with no special tools. Nothing tricky about it but ensure...

Lubed my air con Fitted a pair of cheap led spot / flood lights on my bumper (second attempt at this as the first lights I fitted turned out to be ****e!!) And removed the door tops so I could drive around basking in the glorious sunshine!

fitting radius arm bushes .. ?

I’ve never failed using the method above. On occasion I have had to cut the outer sleeve twice (opposite each other) but it’s always worked. Good call re poly bushes!

fitting radius arm bushes .. ?

Just fitted the britpart poly bushes to my front radius arms......easier than expected and handling is great! To get the old ones out, drill the rubber bit (chain drill around it) to release the inner sleeve. Then use a hack saw to slit the outer sleeve. It should then be easy to knock it out of...

    Polybush Quality

I found my radius arm bush completely collapsed and there was no indication at all. I found it by accident, really. I replaced the radius arm bushes both sides with Britpart poly ones and the handling is now taught and predictable. I bought the kit last year but never got round to fitting them...

    Can't get above 55mph

It should do more than 55 whatever transfer box is fitted I would have thought.... For top end speed though, a disco transfer box has a 1.2:1 ratio which is the highest geared, standard transfer box. There should be a label on the box, visible from below, which will tell you what ratio it is...

    Residual transfer oil leak?

Working alone, I use this..... It bolts to the inspection cover and provides a flat surface for the trolley jack to work on. Similar could be made from wood.... If I have a helper, it can be mauled around quite easily. It’s not particularly heavy but it is an awkward, unbalanced thing to lift...
