Could be the governor sticking! Happens sometimes when you change the oil. Does it stop messing around once the oil has warmed up?

bb is that the bit of pipe that comes up the right hand side of the block and sits against the bulkhead?

No vibration just dropping from second to first and back again. Is the seal an easy job?

Cheers James, I still had some drive once I had it home. After it sat for a few days and I put about 5 litres of oil back in it, it now wont do anything. Is there any pipes around the back of the rocker?. Is it possible to loose oil from the point the box is bolted to the block?

So used the Disco to pull a trailer at the weekend and it killed the box. Started hunting from second to first and loss of fluid. Finally lost all drive with a dirty puddle of ATF under the motor. Recovered it home, re filled with oil. The box makes a horrible noise and refuses to select any...

Wtf???? Armrest? Wtf??? That's work these days, researching armrests???

I have to say that i used them for the first time a couple of months ago, new alternator. Bloody brilliant, bent over backwards to beat a quote i had recieved from elswhere. Nice people to deal with and i will be using them now instead of my other dealer that i have used for a few years.

I got a brand new Brown church rack a few years ago which done the exact same. I filled all the little holes in the tubing which took most of the whistle away!.

Non abs? I got the wrong ones for mine last year.

I'm not looking to buy it off of him, but to help him restore it. As said above I think first thing is to get it under cover and dry in my barn. Then strip it back a bit to see what we have got. I tried putting some more pictures on here but it says they are too big.

Might be worth learning how to throw some spanners around if you are going to run an old Disco!. It's a good vehicle to learn on.

If you have bent a rod it's not a major issue. My advice to you would be to talk to @jamesmartin about it. He has saved my arse on many occasion.

I had this after replacing the hg. Re done the valves again, one was pretty tight, it got rid of it. Have you got a lot of smoke coming from the oil filler cap?
