Big solinoid activated by the stop solinoid on the fuel pump should do it, or just a switch. Power to the motor is through a controller that uses something like this hooked up to the throttle linkage...

Ah I get it now. So it really is as simple as bolting a motor on. I saw one company in AUS that bolt the motor on as a belt driven 'supercharger' and run it on the crank, so fairly similar really. I'm trying to work out how to explain it to the insurance, it's essentialy just a PTO...

Ive never noticed much difference when I've had a few hundred kg in the back Well other than how much more comfortable it is :)

A basic electric system actually seems very simple (I see no reason to go all fancy on a 33 year old land rover) DC forklift motor Controller Throttle potentiometer Big relay 72v of batteries The bit I'm not understanding, With the motor attached to the PTO (presumably they all come with...

So clearly I need another project to add to the list. How feasible of an idea would it be to have an electric motor hooked up to the PTO output on the transfer box that would work in conjunction with the engine rather than running the car on its own? I was thinking a bit more...

    Poor headlights

Mine seems to be working fine, But I did run a thicker positive to the battery as the one the came with it did seem abit thin. Can't complain much for £9 delivered though lol.

    Locking wheel nuts

I promptly replace locking wheel nuts on any car I buy, hate the things. Be easier to just take the whole disco than to remove and steal the wheels

    Overheating

Ive got AMR3321 in mine which seems to match the gauge, stays in the middle, if I forget to open my radiator muff it goes slightly over half. Ofcourse, make sure it isn't actually over heating. Edit - I've just found my thread on here when I had a similar problem, the wire on the back of the...

    Overheating

It'll be the wrong temp sensor if a disco one is used with a defender gauge.
