I kind of guessed that but they must have drilled hole to pot rivet them.question will standard arches cover the holes made for these one or am I stuck with them

Suspect the originals won’t cover the holes as they look like extended arches.

Pretty sure your stuck with them.
Easy check, look underneath to see how much wing is showing under the arch, IIRC the originals only cover about 1/2 inch of the wing.
Or compare with someone elses, like in Tesco car park or something, amount of wing showing under side repeater a good guide.

If you zoom in on this picture you can see the dirt/scuff line on mine, where the edge of the eyebrow sat. It's not much of an overlap. 7 or 8mm ?

Nice grass that
:D Depends on what sort of lawn you like. It must have just been cut. It's full of daisies and other little wild flowers, but I like it like that for the bees and other insects.
I can't remember why I had that line pegged out.

If they're extended arches, then (from the pic) not by very much. An ugly fitment which you should consider removing, IMHO! Given that they're not much bigger than standard, you might be able to refit with OEM without too much restoration work.
Might the tyres be "outside" the line of the arches if they're standard? If so, the MoT bloke might have an issue with anything that allows the outer edge of the tyre to extend that far, which might be the reason the PO "fitted" these.
The finish of the rest of the bodywork seems pretty good, which makes me wonder why he/she did this amateur job and spoil it. The arches themselves seem to be thin plastic or GRP - based on the crack - so worth getting rid of for that reason alone. They'll give constant trouble.

Paint the rivets satin black, it will help with how it looks, the wings are pretty screwed with holes.

Are they actually secured anywhere else? They look a bit ''flappy'' just fixed on from the outside.

I think your right a bit flappy .I will replace with good extended arches if there is such a thing.

Thanks andy

Ps the paint work is terrible it not been flattened right you can blow it off with a power washer! It getting a full paint .its going blue

Genuine arches are brilliant,
You can crash them and they'll be fine :D
