Checked noisy F2 rear diff oil level........was fine. :rolleyes:

Exchange diffs available from Bell engineering, about £500 i think. Another £250 for them to fit. All prices approximate, check their website. My diffs noisy, am waiting for it to go pop. Got extra noisy on a recent run to wales and back, had a few extra noisy miles on the M5 and then it...

Hill start will be a challenge without an effective handbrake (unless you've lightning reflexes to get from the brake pedal to the clutch)

At the end of the day, you need to try and sell the vehicle at a value your happy with. If your 'price' is too high then unless you get some gullible fool come along who knows feck all about defenders, it won't sell. You must know in your mind what the equivalent is going for, say a 2002 TD5...

At the moment, most defender owners think of a figure and then add 50%, try it on for a few weeks then drop the price to a more realistic level.......:D

All good advice, I went for a hse been happy with it. Replaced disks and pads and tyres all round, treated corrosion to rear sub frame and has been great over the past 2 years. Rear diff does whine, will let it do so until it goes pop. Replaced the oil and filter in the haldex unit. Good cheap...

Bought one a few months back 'cos it was dirt cheap, can't be arsed to fit it.

Might be worth a trip to Axminster to check if its siezed or not?

Watched it, subtitles came up automatically. G-wagon is a bit of a beast if I'm honest, shows its far less reliant on electronic wizardry. Don't think I'd have the new defender even if I could afford one.
