Hi im new to this forum and looking for some help, i have a 2013 Freelander 2 Dynamic Td4 Auto iv been having a problem with loosing power/acceleration. Basically the car runs fine for the first 15/20mins but as soon as the car warms up thats when the power drops and gets reallt sluggish setting off from a stand still it really struggles but will eventually get upto speed once i get past 30mph but as you can imagine pulling out from a junction on a hill once the power has gone is near impossible especially trying to get upto the speed of traffic. I have had the car in at an independent land rover ‘specialist’ who have plugged to car in for faults but it is showing no fault codes, they then tryed to manually diagnose which they couldnt, the turbo pipes have been changed aswell, then they checked the system for blockages which there was none then they did a terra clean which didnt help eather, all of this iv had to pay for and the car is no better off. Now they want to take the turbo and send it to a specialist to check it, they want to literally take everything apart at my expense which im not happy with so have picked it up as they have had it for 4 weeks and i have over £700 down with them and the car is no better off.

Please say someone has had this problem and knows the solution i would be great for any suggestions and advice.

thanks guys

Have you tried it with the fuel cap of , or have you heard sucking noise when you undo the cap, if the breather is blocked it will create a vacuum which could effect the engine.

Did you change the crank position sensor, as I suggested earlier in the week?

Could be, try driving it round with out the filler cap and see if it still has a fault, and free to try.

New
I have changed the fuel filter on thursday and the car hasnt lost power as of yet done around 20miles with new genuine filter it had a non genuine filter in so hopefully all is well, the crank sensor arrived yesterday so will have that changed aswell for what it cost it makes sense
Thanks for the help guys

One step at a time. Leave it as it is with the fool filter changed only. See if that solves the issue before the crank sensor is changed. It is betterer to know the fault is gone and what caused it by changing one part at a time.

If the fault continues then look at other options.

Poor quality fool and oil filters are a known concern in the car industry. Cheap alternatives not up to the job which is why I source mine from the main dealer only. They don't cost much but for what they do... I prefer the real thing and won't take the risk.

Genuine FL2 fuel filters have the name Purflux in the top. It appears its best to avoid any that don't have the Purflex name on the top. I believe it's an issue with the thermostat inside, which seems to limit fuel delivery when it gets hot.

I've got a German aftermarket brand to try, as I'm going to be changing it again in a few months. It'll be interesting to see if the one I've got causes an issue.

Ye let me no how you get on i got a genuine landrover one from a landrover parts supplier 5 minuted from me it was only £30 and has done the trick

The cr*p filters can block up too soon or collapse. And don't last till the next service change.
