As others above have said, if you've found a rust hole large enough to need welding it is highly likley there will be more in the vicinity.
Have a real good look and poke around before patching.
Defender's are rusty things :D
I'm no 200tdi expert but its fairly smokey, doesn't look like its starving of fuel.
Wondered if a lack of exhaust back pressure would cause any problems?
The eggsperts shall be along shortly..
Hmm, bit much.
What I have noticed is that judging by the amount of private plates adorning these vehicles, the majority of new defender owners are those who previously owned the high end LR's.
Not a farmer in sight
Its probably not overpriced for a Defender at this moment in time. But for me, all defenders are overpriced at the moment, and in the words of the Dragon's, I'm out.
As noted above, I could get a bleddy nice to drive car for that sort of money.
Guessing this is not the vintage voltage version? but another modded defender here, scary 450bhp!

Drove into cental Bath a few weeks back, they have a clean air zone but doesn't affect private cars....yet.
Clean air zones in bath, Brum and Pompey.

The piston damage doesn't really look like it came from a dropped valve to me?, it looks more like something got in there and got pummelled.
The bearing shells show fairly even wear.
Personally for me, all of those are overpriced, but its your money.
Not a chance in hell I'd pay anywhere near those prices no matter how nice they 'look', over 20 year old defenders for near 20k jokers....check them over very carefully. good luck.
It seems you can indeed polish a turd.
I've a trade card for Halfords to make thing a bit cheaper too (not cycles), you'll be suprised at how many other 'trades' than the motor trade can apply.
