    Battery box paint

Just buzz back to clean metal, degrease, use an acid etch/zinc U-POL primer, then finish with a few coats of your preferred paint. Buzzweld or U-POL Raptor are both excellent. I would not powder coat.

    Lower spring seat corrosion

It'll be fine. For belt and braces tie a small rachet strap in two places around the lower spring coil onto the axle tube...and just drive gently.

    2.25 petrol rough idle

    1. Buy manual for proper maintenance - try eBay/Amazon for a second hand copy, they're only a fiver. 2. ensure fuel system is crystal clear, new fuel and filters, no blocked lines. 3. make sure distributor is 100% good [do not buy cheap parts, go to the Distributor Doctor for correct parts]. 4...

    Penetrating Oil/Fluid

£17.99 a 400ml can. I normally use PlusGas and then out with the MapGas if things get very stubborn. And for really stuck old pistons in cylinders it's out with the full fat Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola always works on truly stuck pistons. By far the most difficult to remove are the long head to block...

Making a defender look like a series ??

This thread's nine years out of date. Much like the people at Arkonik, £176,000 for a slightly modified Land Rover with a shiny paint job. It doesn't even have a roof/tilt...! If you like, I'll build you one of these, but far better, for £126,000 including a new tilt of your choice and HD...

Protecting a Defender 2011, 110 from the elements without a garage

One has to be very careful with outdoor car covers as they have to breath under the cover or whole of panel micro blistering will occur. Halfords, yes Halfords, sell a range of outdoor all weather covers that are low cost and work very. I have the XL size for the Ninety when it's outside. They...

Got my eyes on this 110 XS for sale but concern with rust

I too am in Berkshire but would not travel that far unless it's a very special Land Rover. You may like to call Simon at Motodrome near Henley. He normally has a good selection of tratters available https://moto-drome.com/ One other point, us southerners usually look after our vehicles/spend...

    Introducing my self

Welcome Ali, that's a very smart looking P38. Despite being much maligned for their electrical quirks, I see P38's becoming quite sought after in the coming years. A close friend swears by a good P38. He has a penchant for dark Royal/Windsor Blue Autobiography models.

Got my eyes on this 110 XS for sale but concern with rust

As the guys above have said + can really recommend you look at a few more LR's before you buy. This will give you better 'feel' of knowing a good LR from a mediocre LR. It's always worth looking on Car & Classic as there are always a good selection to choose from. Do take someone along who knows...
