    Fitting a Husky Winch

Thought I would continue on this thread rather than starting a new one. I have just picked up and ex-national grid complete husky winch setup including bumper, winch, and power leads (only think missing is hand control) for the same price I paid for the bumper above. It was too good a deal to...

    Anyone encountered these LED headlights?

I mean on dipped beam, and I mean the cut off in front of you more than to the side. Although it must be throwing light out as you can see cats eyes in front of you for a much longer distance than you can see the beam pattern, the beam pattern seems to have a very hard cut off at the front edge...

    Anyone encountered these LED headlights?

I know not necessarily what you are looking for but I run the trucklite led headlights on mine which I think these are a possible copy of. I know they are very pricey by comparison but I chose them because of all the regulation quoting you encountered previously (I had the same thing when I was...

    Seat cover recommendations

I like these ones LINK Have them in both the 110 and the TD5. They fit well, are very hard wearing and waterproof, they look and feel a lot more like actual seat material than a lot of the other ones I have come across that feel mores plastic similar to a cheap waterproof Jacket!

I have bought a station wagon

Some more research and unsurprisingly some more questions! This time I am looking at how the mid crossmember fits (chassis one). I will need to check how much space I have on my 110 as I did not realise that is goes under the fuel and brake lines, and in my case the rear loom which also runs...

300TDI, clutch slave cyl, pushrod. dimensions

I know you mentioned other issues which sound hydraulic in this post but Depending on the style of clutch pedal you use when I had the issue of the pedal staying down it was a broken spring. If you have the later style single flat bar pedal (rather than the earlier pressed c channel pedal) the...

Help ending my leak - 200TDI

Whereas I agree with the above in terms of likly cause. Looking at the leak you have there, If you are worried about that as a real leak you would be horrified by my tdi. I had to zoom in to the picture to find the leak. Usually when you complain a Land Rover is leaking there is oil everywhere...

More responsive after a short drive

This is a td5? I had the same with mine. Would take about 30sec after starting to get full response from the throttle. My work around used to be to turn it on and then connect my phone, seatbelt, satnav etc. so by the time I was read to leave it was working fully. If I started it and just drove...

I have bought a station wagon

Second row floor. The load bay floor and top hats seem to be in good condition. And the whole load bay will get a piece of stable matting out over the top of it all once finished as well to protect it. I have the second row “seat box” panel from YRM pictured in my previous post #45 (EXTENDED...

I have bought a station wagon

The days are closing in and the weather is deteriorating! I was hoping to have the body swap done by the end of the summer at this rate I will be lucky to have it complete for winter. I can’t swap the body until I have rebuilt the body! Photos would be much appreciated. While you are at it...

I have bought a station wagon

Finally a question of how to fit the replacement floor panel. I have the extended panel from YRM which has the floor section included for the full width front. I assume this goes over the top of the existing floor as the top hat sections prevent it going underneath. Similarly the angled arch...

I have bought a station wagon

Some more progress today. The second row floor panel came out very easily once all of the once bolts had their heads cut off. Next it was drilling out the spot welds holding the floor side panels into place, and the top edge of the seatbox front panel. A few taps of a hammer and sharp chisel...

I have bought a station wagon

Do you have any pictures of how the mid crossmember mounts? It is not obvious from my chassis or from the parts manual. Having removed the floor (more updates on that to follow) it appears that the box section I have as a mid crossmember may be welded to the little brackets shown in the photo...

    Do these axles look narrow?

This one. It has the original swb skinny, no offset, tiny tyre, rims fitted which make it look narrow.

    Defender 90 advice

This is a very important point to note. Mileage is not as relevant with a defender as it is with other vehicles. It’s the condition that is important. My 110 has 410k miles on it. But it is like the Ship of Theseus and very little of it has actually done that mileage. I am on my third...

    Defender 90 advice

One of the reasons the 90 vs 110 is a serious question is a 110 hardtop is one of the cheapest versions of a defender you can buy. With a 110 station wagon being the most expensive. I do not think a 110 is that big when compared with other modern vehicles, it is on the larger side but is not the...

    Defender 90 advice

First question I have would be is a 90 the right vehicle? They are very small (about the same external dimensions as a golf And do not have a lot of space inside, you can carry people, the dog, and things, but only one at a time. A 110 however has much more ability to mix and match. Even a...

I have bought a station wagon

Many thanks. Not come across those before. I will give them ago. Says safe for Ali so I assume hard enough to remove paint and imperfections. But not hard enough to remove metal?
