Freelander TD4 Mk1 Rear Diff - Does anyone have any advice on how to replace the rear diff?

If you use the search button, look up RAVE on the forum. Download it to an old pc - it’s the LR manual😉 Are you certain you need to replace the diff?

A rusty skip. It’ll be cheaper but serve the same purpose.

    Non-starting 1997 Freelander L-series

Have you tried the camshaft position sensor? This can prevent firing. You really need a code reader - or ideally a diag tool that can read the live data. Or someone who has one 😉 Where are you based?

A tratterer requires a special type of hoover …it’s called a wet-and-dry, what for sucking all the leaky water up.

In all seriousness, we have a cordless Dyson animal thing to whip round quick - good with the dog hair for a quick clean. But then have a Sebo plug-in upright which really gets everything. Big and heavy, but proper job. They use them for cleaning in the hotel and airline industry apparently...

    Smoke (steam)

It gets me each year when the temp drops… I suddenly see smoke, panic for 2 seconds, then remember the FBH!

    Oil Filter O Rings

I think some of the aftermarket cheap versions have questionable O rings. Go for a good brand and you should get the correctly sized rings included. What make filter did you buy?

Inside it works just fine. I’ll maybe have a crack this weekend, after the tyre fitting.

I tend to never turn it off - just use the main stat to control the CH on-off as needed. It’s normally set at 20, which gives a nice comfortable and steady temp in the house for everyone. There is a method in this approach… wimmins never seem to be able to understand how a thermostat works, and...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Yep - got the rear one in the box 👍 The passenger front has decided to play about intermittently and not lock/unlock on the fob. The rest seem fine atm.
