Just found and watched a yootoob on how to do the timing belt change that I have just done.
Blokey did it the exact same way that I did including all bits left out and alternatives. so quite chuffed.
Pro with 20 yrs experience.
Might have helped if I had seen it first but didn't really make much difference.
I must learn to not trust Haynes and to research yootoob. Although he did it on a Citroen C4 which being bigger he had more room! But same engine.
Glad I decided not to change the coolant pump although I did buy one. That for him was by far the hardest part of the job, fighting to get the old one out took him ages and mucho effort!

For the tech lovers among you.
I now believe in miracles.
As our old laser printer which has been playing up, (horizontal lines across the page) is now working again.
Even though an "expert " with 48 yrs experience came round to try and fix it, twice, and couldn't.
He did all the cleaning I had done after checking on the net, then he did even more going into places I would not have dared to.
He reckoned it is was one drum that had a fault as the marks were as far apart as the circumference of one. He didn't know and couldn't tell which one of the 4 it was. Spares are obtainable but it would soon add up if we didn't get the right one first or second hit.
So I gave him 30 sovs for the 2 hours he had made the effort and ofdf he went.
Yessdi I had a rethink, I had two spare toner cartridges cos it was nearly out of the two colours the other two had been changed, so I put them in thinking that the problem isn't too bad and we might as well run it until all toner is gone before replacing it. (He reckoned that laser printers have really come down in price now, dunno, have yet to check.) so I gave it one last look on the net and tried one other thing, making the printer do a "spot test print". It came out with a row of tiny magenta spots about 4 inches apart. So this told me where to look and on which roller, so I did. Found it and cleaned it off. That was ALL the print showed, no lines at all.
So did test prints and photocopying just to see.

All fine.

Cue song!

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Up early, puppo walk in the dark for a change (although more of that to come) as I am dropping m'lady at the station. Nice full moon outside now, awesome view of it.....

Shame it was cloudy when I got up at 04am and knocked half the stuff on the landing over whilst fumbling for the way to the stairs.

Early morning dog walks are the best - especially in winter, in the dark, before everyone else is up and about.
Indeed, we went to the Gower last week and it was serene, every morning walked the beach in pitch black as dawn gradually crept in, by the time we turned around you could see the sand/stones sea for the walk back. Never a soul on there at that time.
