I was impressed with it to be honest. The car seemed to me to perform very well.

2 seconds suggests to me there is little or no fluid in it, or some random stuff like hydraulic oil or something. BTW, I don't think it matters if the car is in gear or not for the test if the other three wheels are on the ground, but it obviously should be from a safety perspective.

I'm sure I've read posts/threads on here about how to do it without removing the bumper. Try a search.

Just wondering Andy, what grease did you use on the bearings? I'll be putting a recon VCU and new bearings on mine later this month. Having had numerous bearings go over the years I want to try and give them some more longevity! Do the seals pop out - and more importantly - go back in easily?

Is it noticably noisier than the original? I replaced mine with one of these "new" Pieberg ones a year or two ago. It's still working but the noise does not fill me with confidence that it'll be long lived!

I'd like to see if I can just get a decent joint and boot if possible in the first instance as the replacement shaft (which you should recall😉) was a new GKN and has performed well and is only just over a couple of years old. It's just the blummin boot that has caused the issue. I def don't want...

A couple of years ago I fitted a new GKN near side front driveshaft to my 2005 TD4. Unfortunately the inner boot has split and I didn't notice it until too late and the car now has a knocking/clicking on full lock. Now I'm really reluctant to change the shaft as I'd forked out the extra cash for...

The pipe that goes into the back of the back of the thermostat housing can be a culprit too. There is a small o-ring that can fail. It's pence to buy but a right pain to change
