dash mounted scope.. 4channel - its all sounding a small bit like my own - wouldn't say it goes off a pot but you can get it to stumble under load when you try... and mine has had the fuel system changed!!!

    Good or bad idea?

LOL a great insight to technology and a week on the road review - (placebo - pure lies?) where is the rolling road maps? lol surely that would be good cheep hard proof that it does something - flatten the torque curve increase in BHP whatever lol as Nodge said there is a bit more to it than...

I was sure i posted a link before but cant find it, here is a link to the sdd130 user manual - i go tthat wrong before, after 130 license keys are required for some functions

I decided to give up on my laptop - when i can just get away with it ( software) I didnt want to spend the weekend stressing about reloading windows or whatever over the weekend. gonna leave it into a guy this week hopefully. What version of SDD have you got? when i looked into it there was...

seems to be the ECU alright. stuff like that is can be potted to protect it from the elements black stuff drys like tarmac. . if you could have a dash mounted scope to read the signal lol. If only LR had spent a few more pennies on the software for debugging..

You say the cylinder dropped out under load again - to me thats more hardware - could be software (ecu) but cant picture it. Just thinking problems delivering excessive fuel - cold and under load.. not sure where that is leading me but i will be pondering it over... I never got my laptop sorted...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Im an electronics test engineer by trade and like yourself hardware - its all about keeping the smoke in. I have been perplexed of late when we advertise for test engineers all the CVs come in with purely software - things change and i find myself trying to keep up lol I can bluff my way through...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Just watched a youtube last night on the new Defender - check engine light on at 2 days, 167 miles, cylinder 2 and 3 mixture. Back to dealers for 2 CM updates after which the cameras failed, told it was another failed cm but back to the garage for further diag. Thats this month!! I also got...

    Freelander 2 (LR2) OBD2 scanners

I was a bit disappointed in what the nt530 didn't do on the FL2, but i think its the FL2 rather than the tool from reading more into it.

    Freelander 2 (LR2) OBD2 scanners

I would second the elm32 and torque app, but it does engine codes only, for the other control units I invested in the foxwell NT530. Bit more than i wanted to pay but it can be upgraded with additional software for other car manufactures when the good wife decides to swap. and it is handheld /...

if you think you would make use of it scopes are getting pretty cheap that would be the best cheap one but needs a laptop to run or these are more stand alone but would not use them for absolute measurement - just a look see or this one for a glove box hero?

    Noisey

you say wind noise.... if it has had a new or flat battery in its history the sunroof can loose its calibration and stay open a fraction - that would be wind noise at speed - if its more to the rear could it be a bad seal on a rear door? Turn you heater blower on full tilt and take a walk...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Freelander 2 diesel starting on 3 cylinders, now running properly, after cylinder head change.

I can picture it as a worn bit of wire partially shorting out somewhere loading up the signal so that it doesn't get to the injector and the ecu can see the load as an injector, so doesn't trip a code.

so it only logs a fault (open circuit) when warm. does it log open circuit for the other cylinders when cold? if its just number 3 - or worth a punt either way - measure the resistance of the loom at the injector end cold vs warm see if there is a difference. I am going to hazard a guess and say...

Hi there, I thought i would stick my head in the door and see what its like here. You would normally find me in the freelander room... Its time for a change and the disco sport is in our sights. we are looking at 2016/17 with 40 - 60K miles sort of thing. Theory is we do about 12K a year keep...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Transmission Wind Up

I would say if the transfer box was to suffer failure as a result of what you are doing they must be soft as the brown stuff and not fit for purpose, think about it - whats its job, to pull and push the car out of trouble. if you are in a ditch with little traction, all torque could easily be...
