Just before you go down a route of replacing parts. Just try and give the battery a charge. Mine was sitting for a while and wouldn't start and sounded like yours, checked the battery and it was showing over 3/4 charge so didn't think it was that but decided to give it a charge anyway and fired...

I haven't got around to doing mine yet, working through the other problems with the car 😀 but (and I think other will agree) always go with new/original parts or good second hand ones. Never use off brand or random bolts especially for the drive train!

Ok just so I'm reading this right, everything fits together ok but the pads won't fit back over the new discs. Do you mean the pads are too thick ie there isn't enough space?
