Smashed My Genuine Disco 2 Fog/Spot Lamps

Hi Folks, Somewhere along the way the lens to one of the bumper mounted spot lamps on my disco 2 metropolis has got smashed and the horizontal grill lost. Landrover say they are discontinued. Anyone out there know of any for sale. Ive tried ebay but nothings turned up. Doesnt even matter if...

Disco 2 Genuine vs Aftermarket Disks and Pads

In fact Paddocks are doing Mintex Discs for £25 each and the greenstuff pads (front) for £30 (All plus vat).. verses £62.50 for the mintex kit, so may well go for the upgraded pads for an extra 20 quid

Disco 2 Genuine vs Aftermarket Disks and Pads

Disco 2 Genuine vs Aftermarket Disks and Pads

Wow thats some mileage!.. Which is reassuring. I was getting tempted to get rid of the TD5 and get a Disco3.. But Ive done about 5k an annum in it since we've had it as its our dog mobile! Which its perfect for. Out of interest have you bought another discovery?

Disco 2 Genuine vs Aftermarket Disks and Pads

Not sure how they would be better for offroad conditions.. when the are marketed for other vehicles as fast road use:confused:

Disco 2 Genuine vs Aftermarket Disks and Pads

Ive had a bit of a search around on here but cant find exactly what Im looking for. Ive got a TD5 metropolis, if I go with genuine Landrover disks and pads front and rear, the parts will be in the region of £330. The front disks and pads make up about £200 of this. Who is the original parts...

Rear steps for dogs.. any ideas

Thanks people.. Ive also seen this Pet Loader 5 Step- Folding Dog Stairs - Pet Classics™ but their pretty big bucks and look pretty bulky. I may see if I could remove one of the rear 7 seats and drop them in there. Ideally it needs to go on the floor behind the fron seats as we have...

Rear steps for dogs.. any ideas

Sorry, its a TD5 metropolis. It has the drop down step on the spring, but thats too close to the bumper for them really. Do you have a link to the tow bar attaching contraptions. Cheers Matt

Rear steps for dogs.. any ideas

Wondering if anyone has any ideas.. Ive got 2 dogue de bordeauxs (french mastiffs) ones 9 stone and the others 8 stone. Their not natural jumpers and after a longish walk I have to pick them up and lift them back out of the disco lol. This is fine for me but not so easy for the wife when the big...

Help !!Auto Box High Pitch Screech Whilst In Gear

Help !!Auto Box High Pitch Screech Whilst In Gear

To make it clearer, when the car is stationary and the transfer box is in nuetral there is no whirring noise in any gear when I put it into D, R, 1,2,3.. If I put the transfer box iin low or high then select a gear, whether stationary or driving i get the high pitched whirring sound. Strangely...

Help !!Auto Box High Pitch Screech Whilst In Gear

After a bit of fiddling, it appears that when you put the transfer box into nuetral then select a gear, there is no noise... Ive tried both high and low ratio and the high pitch gear meshing noise is there when puting it in gear but not when the transfer is in neutral. Is it possible the fault...

Help !!Auto Box High Pitch Screech Whilst In Gear

The car drives forwards and back. It's just making a high pitched zzzzzzz type noise. There's no noise in neutral or park. The local automatic transmission people came out today and have gone away to ponder as they too haven't heard this sort of noise before without any noise in neutral. It...

Help !!Auto Box High Pitch Screech Whilst In Gear

Filled the gearbox with oil. It hasnt made any difference. The noise is almost like a high pitched whirring like two cogs whizzing around together. When you take the car out of gear the noise fades instantly. It almost sounds like the starter motor. Infact when turning the engine over the...

Help !!Auto Box High Pitch Screech Whilst In Gear

Thanks for the advice mate. Before I do this I decided take your advice and went out and aquired a syringe which I know have. So will try tomorrow night. Im dubios though that it is the oil as the screaching is loud when I am outside the Disco. And there is no sign of oil what so ever on the...
