After a few weeks of having an intermittent misfire I've treated my 2002 4.0 to a set of Magnacor leads, nice to have all eight cylinders firing all the time again!!!!
When Mr AA initially put his diagnostics laptop on to monitor the rpm when cranking there was no readout but after removing the sensor and putting it back in we were getting around 150rpm when attempting to start!!
My 2001 4.0 decided not to start this morning after being fine last night, turns over ok but that's all.
Called AA and pointed them in the direction of the crankshaft sensor but found this to be ok(after removing it and checking it)
After a few hours checking various things there is no spark at...
The TD5 has now gone and been replaced by a very nice Range Rover,an early 2002 on a 51 plate 4.0ltr HSE.
Picked up on Friday and so far only problem is the CD Changer doesn't work.
Had a strange experience with my key fob last week when unlocking.
Pressed once and unlocked the drivers door but wouldn't operate on the second press of the button for passenger door etc, carried on journey but when I stopped and attempted to lock all doors nothing happened apart from setting...
Hi discoja,I had a similar problem a couple of months ago when my fob packed up,got the eka from www.mgrovercodes.com as I was on holiday in the lake district at the time, think it cost £20, took about 30 minutes to get it but it worked!!!
All sorted thanks to sierrafery and especially Neilly for bringing his Nanocom round this morning and syncing new remote.
Just shows even the independent LR garage's can't do there job properly!!!!!
They were saying there must be a wiring issue or something which would need investigating but as sierrafery has said if dash button etc works it sounds more like a programing issue.
