It turned out to be the normal oil filter that was not sealed properly. Anyone know the best way to remove oil from paving slabs?

Im not really worried about it as i can keep my eye on how much is being lost fairly easily but im getting grief about the oil on the drive and that does bother me! Would be nice if it was a 30 min job that i could do myself.

Ive just finished replacing the brake fluid. It took 1 and a 1/2 litres to renew it. Brakes seem much keener now so I guess that was it. This just leaves the oil leak to sort out. It looks like its coming from somewhere near the oil filter but I cant see properly for the turbo etc. Is it ok to...

Does anyone know how much brake fluid i need to renew the old with new on a TD5? Ive noticed that the brakes are feeling a little spongy as if there is air in the lines so im hoping that new fluid should sort it out. Ive also noticed that shes losing engine oil from somewhere but im not sure...

Sorry i should have explained myself better. The problem is with the rear only.The fronts are working 100% but the rear discs had developed a dull area right on the outer edge.This is now polishing up nicely with the new pads in.

Job done.:D Took less than an hour.Things werent that crudded up so it was easy. I was slightly worried that there was still roughly 40% of the pad wear left yet they werent rubbing all the disc.Does this mean my callipers/pistons are knackered??:confused: Thanks again

Could anyone give me an idiots guide to replacing the brake pads on my 51 plate td5? When i last tried it on my old 300tdi i managed to split the caliper and ended up having to get the lot properly bled:confused: . Cheers.

I finally towed the trailer and wow what a difference. The only slight problem now is keeping below 60mph! Hills were tackled with ease and my reckoning of the fuel consumption is slightly better too. If anyone is thinking of getting this done then i can 100% reccomemd getting it done...

Is it posible to turn up your fuel pump and boost pressure?? The reason i ask is that i have been looking at uprated intercoolers and if you fit one you need to alter the fueling. Is it an easy job for a novice like me to do or am i better off paying more for someone else to do it??

I was quoted £150+vat for a timing belt change by my local(leeds)landrover specialist. Seemed cheap enough for the peace of mind.

This morning i pulled out the half shafts and both were fine. Next off was the diff which when i looked had shed all its internal gubbins into the diff housing. I think ive been quite lucky not to break the diff housing. So a new diff was bought this afternoon and will be fitted tommorow...
