Freelander 1 A little bit of knowledge rear parcel shelf

Didn't know they were that much, I left one at the scrappies as mines a 5 door and it looked too big, should have got it for eBay

Freelander 1 Release 2 harness clips from battery carrier

I used a trim tool, (like a bent screwdriver with a vee slot) it applies pressure on either side so doesn't damage the clip as you remove it

What have you done to your Freelander today

Stripped and rebuilt the brake light switch as it was arcing out and blowing the fuse, very random fault

    Crane Mans Commercial

Looks good, another commercial fan, however Mrs Kayos said no. I have just fitted the rubber nudge bar with spots, just be aware the markings on the back of the bumper may not line up, mine didn't.

What have you done to your Freelander today

My led sidelights are playing up after only a few weeks, need to dig out the ones I had in the last motor, they were bullet proof

    what ..got no prop

I dont normally lower myself to the levels of trolls such as you, but you sir are an idiot. I bought a £20 (scrap if you will) VCU THEN I REBUILT IT, WITH NEW SILICONE FLUID AND NEW BEARINGS, AS PER THE EXCELLENT POSTS ON THIS FORUM And its been on my car for a month without issues

    what ..got no prop

I may be the exception then, mine had the same owner from 2006, then the HG went in 2015, it was parked for 9 months and as it was a low miles looked after one the prop was removed to fix a newer but higher mileage one I refurbed the vcu as per several threads on here and have had it on for...

    what ..got no prop

You really really really need to read before you reply, £20 prop (as that is what they charge) and the stuff to refurb it Very far from a scrapper, it's a low mileage looked after car
  9. Kayos

    what ..got no prop

No, prop with an unknown vcu for £20 from u pull it, hence the bearings and fluid to refurb it, I know the history of mine and why the prop was removed, 62k so no issues with the rest of the drivetrain
  10. Kayos

    what ..got no prop

Yes it was :) (It was also aimed squarely at the OP, and the tone of a lot of his pointless replies)

    what ..got no prop

Thank you for yet another informative and well written post My Freelander was purchased with no prop, and it has cost me Prop £20 Bearings £40 New fluid £25 Plus a bit of welding wire and time to rebuild it so let's say £90 including the consumables Not what I'd call a load of expense, been...

    K series Clutch replacement

I've not done it either but I've done it in other cars that state you have to remove subframe and engine/box combined without removing anything but the box Id pull the IRD, lower the box down and try pull it off with the engine on a jack

    Freelander 1 My Freelander

The side lights being inboard was the thing that made me want to do it, but the high fog and low indicators needed sorting too, I couldn't see the point adding extra indicators so the only extra on mine is the higher sidelight

    Dave Smith's Freelander

I've always kept them on other cars, not started on the Freelander brakes yet so not decided

    Freelander 1 My Freelander

It will pass, that im sure of ;) I wanted to do the mods but spend as little as possible, so it took a bit of working out how to use standard bulbs and stuff, the bumper light looms came from the scrappy

Even more done today (you can tell I'm off work) I've never been happy with the rear lights, I found a guide to altering them but it wasn't 100% so I set about it myself. I have altered the exposure on these shots to try and enhance the lights, ideally need some night time shots to see the...

    Freelander 1 My Freelander

U pull it near York, everything is a set price regardless of the car it comes off, they also do wheelbarrow days, whatever you can cram in a barrow (below a certain height) is £60. I've had some good stuff in the past, worth the 50 odd mile trip but sadly freelanders are thin on the ground, one...

    Freelander 1 My Freelander

Bit of time today to fit the nudge bar First a before shot Whoever removed the bar was a heavy handed heathen I bonded a threaded insert in with some PU adhesive and used new stainless bolts Removed the bumper and found some mounting holes that looked to be in the right place, so I...

    Freelander nearly killed me!

In my experience the pedal drops and you loose feeling, but the good circuit still works The cylinder popped on an AX once and I managed to stop it going downhill, I used the gears but held it half way down on half the brakes
