Sounds to me like a job for a professional!

    Yet Another Wheel Bearing Problem!!!

Sounds exactly like mine then, easy enough to replace for a novice with a socket set?

    Yet Another Wheel Bearing Problem!!!

I'm trying to diagnose a problem on my Disco, what were the symptoms of a collapsed wheel bearing?

    MOT with power steering inop?

Ok no worries but the pump itself doesnt seem to make any noise at all which leads me to think its that, at the moment its just heavy with no assistance....could the steering box cause the ps pump to shut down? But yeah i'll fire you over a pm tomorrow! Thanks :D Bollocks. Cheers tho for the...

    MOT with power steering inop?

300TDi Discovery James. To be fair it has got wide wheels, wide tyres and wheels spacers on which probably dont help lol Theres no noise from the pump when you turn the wheel when the engines on either, the revs dont drop either :s It did start to whine and the power steering fluid level...

    MOT with power steering inop?

Need to get my Disco MOT'd asap but my power steering pump is knackered....will it fail because of this? Yes I know I should put a new pump on it but it had a brand new pump approx 4 months ago, this ones failed aswell :s I'm brassic at the mo due to no work, once its got a ticket on it I can...

disco 1 tail lights to disco 2 tail lights conversion

Possibly but they must be the facelift ones i'd guess. The prefacelift 'TD5' lamps are the same as the 300TDi ones but with a darker insert. If I could find some id Lamin-X my indicators and rear lights ;)

    fishsponge's ongoing thread of problems!

Must say that your Disco looks good apart from the shelf like rear bumper! In terms of fitting bigger wheels, my 3dr has 2inch wider flexi arches, 8" wide 16" Modulars, 30mm wheel spacers, a 2" lift and 285 wide Kumho KL71's. No catching so far, stop locks adjusted and i'm on standard bumpstops...

disco 1 tail lights to disco 2 tail lights conversion

I'd love to fit a D2 rear door to mine as I prefer the boot plinth above the numberplate, not sure on the D2 rear lamps though....would love a HD rear bumper like Mr Noiseys aswell! On the front I will eventually fit pre-facelift TD5 lights (direct replacement ones) with a HID kit to bring it...

disco 1 tail lights to disco 2 tail lights conversion

LandRover Owner International March 2010. "At the rear, Discovery 2 light units have been fitted by using D2 rear corner panels. These were removed from scrapyard panels and fitted to the original body sides, a complex task that involved drilling out spotwelds and re-drilling things to get a...

disco 1 tail lights to disco 2 tail lights conversion

Sure there was a 300TDi in one of the mags with TD5 front an drear conversion, i'm sure I read that the rear panels are the same size etc just the mountings are different.

need some advice about recoveries ( pics included)

Why not? If its laying in the ditch on its ns wheels then there most likely will be access to the ns arm, os is easy to get to. Failing that dig an access point to get to it.

need some advice about recoveries ( pics included)

Winch to snatchblock back to chassis, soft bridle to steering arms close to inner mounts to snatchblock and safety line to snatch block from towing eye. Safe enough incase something goes wrong and an equal pull from 3 points. Cant use wire strop on high end stuff as they tend to bend!

need some advice about recoveries ( pics included)

Yup and succeeded. I have done recovery for the last 5 or so years and have had my fair share of towing eyes snapping and cars rolling away. Hence I never use them unless I have to and when I do I will always use a safety line just on the offchance.

    Hertfordshire Lanes?????

I went on Sun30th and there was only one decent sized puddle then, seems to be wetter when you went! Heres what it did to my previously clean Disco: Paul

need some advice about recoveries ( pics included)

Towing eyes particularly on cars are no good for recoveries like this, only really suited to towing them when they roll.

    Disco2 wheels on Disco1...any pics?

Being honest I do tend to throw mine about, just that mud tyres are horrible to drive when its wet as I get masses of understeer, not to mention the fact theyre noisy! If I could get away with a lower profile more road biased tyre for the spring and summer months then I would, I cant see me...
