Need to get my Disco MOT'd asap but my power steering pump is knackered....will it fail because of this?

Yes I know I should put a new pump on it but it had a brand new pump approx 4 months ago, this ones failed aswell :s I'm brassic at the mo due to no work, once its got a ticket on it I can start a temp job to earn the moneys to fix it properly!

300TDi Discovery James. To be fair it has got wide wheels, wide tyres and wheels spacers on which probably dont help lol

Theres no noise from the pump when you turn the wheel when the engines on either, the revs dont drop either :s

It did start to whine and the power steering fluid level dropped down a bit, I topped it up straight away, jacked it up to go from lock to lock, i've bled the system from the steering box too but no air come out only fluid....

It is very unusual yes, pain in the arse to park in the underground carpark where it lives lol

Ok no worries but the pump itself doesnt seem to make any noise at all which leads me to think its that, at the moment its just heavy with no assistance....could the steering box cause the ps pump to shut down? But yeah i'll fire you over a pm tomorrow! Thanks :D
