What have you done to your Freelander today

Quite easy really, just flick em around with a screwdriver, just be careful of the spring retainer which stops it backing off. Just check that there is no internal lip on the drum, as any lip will need to removed before adjustment is attempted.

Change the crankcase breather filter NOW!

When you fit your replacement turbo either fit NEW oil lines ( feed and return ) or clean them out VERY thoroughly otherwise you risk screwing up your turbo again !! ie:- make sure theyre spotless and a new oil filter and oil change are a must. I would personally drop the oil after around...

Freelander 1 Lower front suspension arm

Hi Hippo, TBH If the radius arm is in good condition, it is only a matter of grinding off the rivet heads and punching them out. The new ball joint assemblies come with the bolts in the kit and you can replace both with good quality parts for less than the price of one arm. its also...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Sounds like the cable adjuster is at the end of its thread. You will need to back off the adjuster and remove the drums, then adjust the internal adjusters in the drums until the shoes are a close fit in the drums ( keep trial fitting the drums over the shoes until you are happy with the fit...

    VCU packaging ?

Hi Guys As quite a few on here have replaced their own VCU's I'm wondering if the packing that your VCU was sent in was reusable for return of your original unit ? I will be going to Bell's for the VCU when I get sorted but just wondering about the packing as I live in Ireland and our...

    Heated front windscreen question

I would have thought that any " short " in the wiring was a vehicle issue as it is very unlikely that the short is in the screen itself. Therefore falling under the offered warranty.

    Broken/snapped glow plug

Its a common enough trick, garages use it a lot, and if you use the heavier duty ones 8 / 10 mm hex with the longer shank theyre plenty strong enough, certainly stronger than a single screwdriver blade. Good Luck either way.
