    Range Rover P38 bits

I bought a P38 (1996) 4.6 a few months ago that turned out to need more money spending on it that I was willing to spend so I ended up breaking it for spares for my other P38. There are still loads of bits left, if you need anything let me know. I can arrange to send items by courier if needs...

    Cold starting problem

Had this very same problem with mine. Rightly or wrongly I ruled out the glow plugs as when it actually fired it didn't belch out loads of smoke?? If left for more than 24hrs I would have to bleed the air out of the clear pipe between the pump and the filter or just keep cranking it over until...

    Quick over view please

Yes this is with the ignition on. What could possibly be causing such low voltage at the plugs? And yes they are daisy chained. Regards Dave

Still having a few issue's with getting the old girl to run ok. What voltage reading should we be getting at the top of the glow plug when charge the ignition is on? At the moment we are showing about 2 volts which seems a little low to me. We have taken all the plugs out and tested them and...

    Quick over view please

Evening all, My brother got paid for a job today by means of a 1986 Land Rover 90 N/A diesel that had been laid up for 18 months. Trailered it home, put a new battery on her and after a bit of coughing and farting it jumped to life and ticked over quite nicely. We switched her off and proceed...

    Radiator question

Morning all, Just a quick question. Bought a replacement radiator for my 2002 P38 diesel auto part number PCC108460. Took it out the box and all looked well except it has two outlets on the bottom of the rad that my old one doesn't have. The outlets look like they are probably some thing like a...

Will P38's become appreciating Assets ?

how can anybody base the fact that just because a P38 diesel's got a BMW engine in it that it couldn't become a classic. Who the hell build's the V8's for them? it's certainly not Land Rover. What difference does the engine make for god sake, Land Rover built the vehicle with that engine in...

Will P38's become appreciating Assets ?

of course it will, it's a Land Rover. I can't think of any past Land Rover that isn't now an appreciating classic. It's only the electrical bits that would let them down, With a good stash of spare electrical bits there's no reason why you shouldn't keep one on the road for a good few years...

    how to change UJs

Took my props off and took them to my local indy. They supplied the new UJ's (Hardie Splicers)and only charged me £10.00 labour to fit the new ones back in. I tried to do it myself once and made a right pigs ear of it. regards Dave
