Steve, the engine had only done 45K so it was the original camshaft. Nothing else was damaged or needed replacing.

Took p38 to das landrover but now....

Dan, Did you take it back to the garage when you found the EAS problem? I've heard good reviews about them and have used them myself. I had an engine problem and they replaced the camshaft (the hardening process hadn't worked on one of the cams and had worn flat - I have the old camshaft at...

Hi all, And update:- Been doing a bit of investigation and digging around whilst listening to Snoop Dog!! I had kept a note the ride heights from when I first got the EAS software. I decided to reset the ride back to these original settings. It seems to have stopped the front pimping up and...

    Missfire and popping

I've just had a similar problem with mine - a loud popping sound on acceleration and lack of power. Took it to my local indie and after stripping the engine down bit by bit the culprit was found. The camshaft hardening process had not worked properly on one of the cams which had worn it from a...

2001 P38 Heated Seat repair - Anyone want to earn a few quid?

Polsta, If you go onto Rover.net there is a thread on how to fix your heated seat. I followed it an I now have a working heated seat. Took me about 2 hours and cost me nothing. It just takes a bit of time and patience.

    255/55/r19 General Grabbers all terrain

I've just had new GG UHP's on my P38 (255/65/R16). £408 for four fitted. AJS tyres in Surrey. I went for these as I will be doing more road driving than off road. I must admit they are so much better than the old Pirelli/GG AT combination I got when I bought the car.

    Brake failure.....nearly

Thanks for the help guys. First thing for me to do here is change the fluid (because I do not know how old it is) and bleed the brakes. After that, if I still get the problem, the pressure switch and then the accumulator. Thanks again

    Brake failure.....nearly

Right, Just tried jump wiring the pump by connecting a wire from the relay point 85 to the battery ground. It does not make the pump work whatever position the ignition is in. However, when I put the ignition into pos 2 to start the car, the pump fires up and pressurizes the system for...

Who said this was a good idea??

Guys, Just for info, my mate, who has a L322, had a problem with the steering sensor. It was faulty and bought up the same warnings as Saint V8 had. He fitted a new sensor, but it wouldn't sync with the ECU. RAVE mentions loading a code in, on speaking to the local indie garage and he said by...

Headlamp Motor Spindle - some advice please

Kooky, Simple answer - YES. The motor sites behind the headlight frame, below the headlight. You have no access from behind and the headlight trim is attached with two screws to which you can only get to with the headlight away from the car. The Grill needs to come off - six screws. I took...

Headlamp Motor Spindle - some advice please

Ok, so no one can help me. So, here's some info. I spoke to Emmetts who told me that the spindle shouldn't come out and I should replace the motor. Before ordering one I noticed the motor casing is screwed together, so, with nothing to lose I took it apart. On the end of the spindle...

Headlamp Motor Spindle - some advice please

I broke my passenger side headlight washer arm the other day and got a replacement arm. Whilst changing it over the motor spindle came out too. I've tried putting it back in (with a little help from a small hammer) but it just will not relocate. Having had a look in RAVE there is no...
