    Anyone in South Yorkshire?

I'm between Sheffield and Chesterfield if any of you chaps fancy heading a little south?

    Intercooler cleaning

I'd go for replys 2 & 3. Just be carefull not to collapse the fins. They are very delicate.

    Disovery Mpi

    Rover 'B' Series at a guess. Same as what was in the 420 / 620 / 820?

New alternator - wrong rev reading.

Mine does that too. IMHO, forget about it, and I do an easy 500 miles per week, no probs so far.

New alternator - wrong rev reading.

Ditto. Same on mine. I also occasionally get the needle jumping a little bit.

    Us vs The Rust

The nearside skylight on mine is starting to show signs of bibbling as well. All the window rubbers are pretty perished, so I might as well replace the lot. One tip I would give you, or anyone else for that matter is this; You have no idea what sort of state you floorpan is in untill you...

    starter motor or alternator ??

Starter motor soluniod? Do you still have the immobilisor fitted, although I believe that works on the fuel pump circuit? if it does, then wouldn't that mean that it would turn over but not fire up?

And now we move on to gearbox problems.

Thanks to all the above posters who have suggested the bias plate, but MHM, I have a question...... The vehicle is 13 years old, with 178'000 miles on the clock. One would assume, (perhaps incorrectly), that it is on it's original bias plate? If so, why would I benifit from an upgraded...

Non genuine starter motors. Anyone else had problems?

Bought a new non genuine starter motor five weeks ago. It lasted four weeks before the soluniod started playing up, and today it packed in completely. Got the RAC round to give an engineers report that it was fecked, and going to try and get my money back in full from the parts supplier. The...

    Us vs The Rust

Rust. it's a ****er aint it. Dont give up though. I know it's hard, I know it's soul destroying, but don't give up. Even if you buy another Disco, chances are that it will be just as bad, so you might as well concentrate on making your decent. Anyway, as requested, pictures..... Boot...

And now we move on to gearbox problems.

1996 300 TDi. The problem hasn't got any worse, but I haven't had the time to do anything other than check the fluids, (which were all fine). Planning a week off in September, so if it hasn't got any worse then I will sort it then. Kinda driving around the problem at the moment by 'feeling'...

Help with Safari snorkel on my 300TDI

Too late, I've fitted it now. Even though I was 99.9% certain that I had fitted the template and drilled the holes correctly, during the trial fit of the daft shaped moulded thing, it didn't seem to line up quite right, catching the top hoses of the rad, the airbox to turbocharger pipe, and...

    R380 Gearbox selector . .

Just posting to say that you are not alone. I have the same problem, but haven't got round to sorting it yet. Only seems to happen when the box gets nice and warm after a run too.

1996 300TDI non ABS Safari Snorkel template.

I have one, but I know that sometimes folk buy the snorkels second hand, but without the template. Well, if anyone wants mine they can have it, FOC. Either collect in person, or you pay for the postage. It doesn't really matter how old this topic gets, as it is just sitting in my garage...

Help with Safari snorkel on my 300TDI

I 'may' sell the internal bits for my Safari snokel, whih just so happens to be for a 300TDi Disco. As Paul D has already stated, it's a right abortion, a really **** poor design IMHO. When I fitted my template it was mm perfect, I made dam sure of that, but the intenal tube, which has far...

    underseal/painting

I took mine to a locla place that waxoils trucks and busses and paid them to do the very dirty work of getting rid of most of it. Only cost me something like £40-£45. Worth every penny IMHO.

I think i broke my disco!

Get used to it. If other landies are anything like mine, then they are all a bit 'Triggers broom'.
  18. Disco Moneypit

    Do I have a 200TDi fitted to 300TDi?

Yep. It looks that way. ok, so it's only 55p, but it is the princeiple that matters. So far they have been spot on...... untill now. 99.9% certain upon reflection that it is a 300 fitted to mine.

    Do I have a 200TDi fitted to 300TDi?

Yes, I removed it and fitted the blanking plate.

    Do I have a 200TDi fitted to 300TDi?

The gasket that I was given was ERR3490. But as you can see it's not relavent to changing the thermostat.
