One other thing to check is your oil level. If it has gone up then it would suggest that diesel is leaking past the injector seal and into the sump. This is caused where the seals are incorrect or when they have been rolled on and are not flush. Could also be caused by a cracked fuel...

Changing the manifold is not difficult. If you have a/c you will need to remove the bolts holding it in place and drop the belt off so you can access the front bolts. Turbo heat shield will also need to come off. I recommend that you soak all the mainfold studs and nuts twice a day for a week...

That happened to me as well. I just drilled it out and used a nut and bolt instead - No problems 2 years on. Much easier and cheaper than replacing the manifold T
