Best 2" lift set up available??

To be honest, the Terrafirma kits are very good (according to countless chaps I've spoken to about them). But I'll tell you, the Britpart yellow springs are actually very good. I have them on mine and I am working the vehicle every day. I know quite a few guys whose working vehicles use...

    200tdi 110 exhaust hangers

Cheers chaps. Handy link that. Price of them is just stupid but yrm? Land rovers have told me they can supply the ones I need for mine and they are galvanised and far better price. A serious moron owned this before me...if he browses forums hope he sees my posts. Would love to say few words...

    Wheel spacers

I'm running 30mm spacers with 35x12.5 tyres. Offroading plenty with work and have already covered a LOT of work miles. I know for a fact the spacers have been on for 5 years and the bearings have been on quite a while. Not a single issue. Rtc steering damper has really transformed the steering...

    200tdi 110 exhaust hangers

Can anybody tell me the parts numbers and locations for exhaust hangers on a 110 200tdi. Mine has none at all and can't figure out what ones I need to buy. Also...downpipe has a little bracket welded on...but nowhere for it to attach to? Is there another parts that is needed? Their must be...

    Tools for the job !

I've got that trade point card myself. Use it for work supplies in emergencies. Odd decent deal but most of time I can still find stuff I need elsewhere significantly cheaper. Certainly wouldn't cry myself to sleep if I didnt have it.

    Tools for the job !

Jeepers that sounds a nightmare! Yes they always told me no further discount but I always insist they scan card....9 times out of 10 substantial further discount. Thats how tool chest was only 199.99. Also local store dont even ask me what's wrong with tool...just spot me carrying one in and...

    Tools for the job !

Agree with others. Try to get use of trade card. I have one. Got the industrial (black one) Tool Chest for 199.99 for whole outfit!!!Couldn't find anything that compared for that money. And saved a fortune on the tools. And the torque wrench's which are excellent. Also stuff like bulbs...

    Front chassis legs...???

Actually I can see all the flaky crap in there. I see lots of people have this problem. I just don't like the idea of the steel being thinner along the was now which is why was considering replacements. But the price of them is shocking for what they are!!!!!

    Front chassis legs...???

That's good job. Did you have a load of flaky rusty crap to scrape out from inside? What about the metal housings that the bolts go through...did you fabricate something to replace or just leave as is? One of mine is rusted where bolt holes are too.

    Front chassis legs...???

Mick I wouldn't consider a new chassis yet. Haven't got the space (land rover just about fits into my garage) or time to do it myself as it needs to stay on the road and couldn't afford to pay the £3000+ that the guys want for doing it right now. Work would need to get a bit busier. They are...

    Tools for the job !

I got fed up with crap tools so bought halfords industrial tool chest and their socket trays, spanners, ratchet spanners to start. Haven't looked back..excellent kit. And have used guarantee twice with no hassle.

    Front chassis legs...???

Right just spent 2 days cutting off welded on bumper, bullbar and winch mount and found that front bits where bumper attaches have been rotten and plated. Started cutting sections out intending to replate but tbh... I don't know how happy I'd be to botch it up as I notice the rot has spread down...

    Britpart exhaust

You see lines of people at counter of local specialists getting parts....they maybe say 'need an exhaust' 'need a ball joint' 'need a blah blah blah' and there is a constant stream of Britpart labeled packaging handed over counter. Must just be like everything....some good, some not. If its all...

    1991 defender 90 200tdi renovation

Yeah roller finish can look perfect. Same as everything...depends whose doing it. Know of Defender locally hand painted...just slapped on, over fittings, rubbers etc..household gloss!!! Looks horrible creamy white. But painted a boat last summer. Weather was good, didn't want to spray outside...

    1991 defender 90 200tdi renovation

Not a thing wrong with roller painting. I tackle both spraying and roller painting on vehicles and boats. The prep and clean up for spraying bores the absolute life out of me as I work in small garage so lots has to be moved and covered every time I go to spray. Seen quite a few roller painted...

    Funky dashboards?

I was going to stick a Td5 into my 200tdi. But costs of repairs are getting out of control so am really considering doing something custom using mdf or something. If woods good enough for Morgans its good enough for my Defender. Actually surprised when researching, that more people out there...

Retrim fabrics - who has done their seats recently

Will do. Considering getting the seat frames sand blasted. Bit scrappy and somebody local has started doing it at good prices. Taking bullbar and new winch bumper for blasting tomorow then off for galvanising.

    Britpart exhaust

Although I was hoping to put a stack exhaust in once new rear tub is fitted but exhaust fell apart sooner than hopednso didn't have time to mess about. I take ages doing stuff as always end up tinkering about every time I start a job.
