    Heater / temp gauge

Hi, I'm having same prob with 19j. I've been reading on here and google and my suspicion is thermostat staying open on rad!- not sure if this is also the case on 300tdi. I left mine idling on drive for a good bit and temp gauge went to just under half way (where it used to go to) but as soon I...

How much oil does your 19j breath ? and oil coming from turbo?

Are there any advantages to having a closed system (fitting oil catch can and pipe to air box)? Or should I just leave it in bottle and block inlet on air box off?

How much oil does your 19j breath ? and oil coming from turbo?

Thanks for reply Blackburn. I was wondering if the air flow was actually pulling oil up, but wasn't sure if the flow was powerful enough. Anyway I'd ordered an oil catch can but not sure if I want to fit it now- don't want the pipe going back to air box incase it increases air flow from...

How much oil does your 19j breath ? and oil coming from turbo?

Hi guys, I too was getting oil in air filter ( crankcase pressure not to bad) but every 6 months when changing air filter, the bottom of filter was oiled. So whilst doing a service last week I put the breather pipe from crankcase into a plastic bottle. A week and about 400 miles later- no oil in...

Easye1- hahaha calm down mate before you burst a blood vessel! It's all about personal choice. But I'm sure if a vote was had, most people would prefer a spare wheel over a glue can!- that's all I was saying. I called you a muppet for your comment about being a crap driver!

Easye1- what you on about ya muppet- you don't have to be a crap driver to get a split in a tyre hahaha. Also The guy in quick fit told me you've used the glue then that tyre is unrepairable on therefore unusable. I'd be gutted if I only had a nail in middle of a brand new tyre and then told it...

Those compressors and cannisters of glue are a nightmare!! Maybe fine if just a nail or screw but good for #### all else- got a puncture driving home last month (14 plate zafira) went the boot, attached compressor, glue all over the road as tyre had a 2 inch split. Ended up waiting in car for...

    Fitting an Oil Catch Tank?

Cheers totot. Didn't think it would matter to much, I'll be fitting catch can in few days anyway. So system will be sealed soon. I've ordered a cheap one from ebay in haste today but on further research I've read you should fit the ones with baffles in! What do you think guys?

    Fitting an Oil Catch Tank?

Hi guys, I was doing a service on my 19j today and got ****ed off with oil in my air filter, so I ordered a catch can from ebay. But as I was putting new filter in today (and cleaned out air box) I thought I'd do a quick fix for now- pipe from breather into an empty washing up liquid bottle...
