Hi all I am having trouble finding 3rd gear when I'm changing up & down the box. When you go from 2nd to 3rd, should the gear lever spring over so you can select 3rd with just a forward movement.When the gear lever is in neutral it sits between 1st & 2nd. any advice would be appreciated Cheers

When I did mine with a td5 Alive kit, I found that thre was 2 vacum pies and 2 acctuators that needed disconecting. I beleive land rover made a few changes to the engines in 2001. Upto mid 2001 had a different EGR setup than the later 2001 engines mine being the later one hope this helps

An expensive gimmick

Congo181 personally I'm a great believer in genuine parts. My Disco is a 2001, and the bushes seem to be in the same condition as they were from the factory. Thats 7 years old come Nov 2008 pimackenzie

Two years ago I sent my nissan terrano (sad I know) in for new bushes. They fitted 8 poly bushes and said they would last forever. MOT due the following year, failed on rear axle bushes. They did replace them free of charge, as they were the garage that fitted them. So I have no faith in them...

I have a td 5. Had the same problem at 65, turned out to be the wheels out of balance. Hope this helps Regards Paul

On my Td5 I have a reset switch . When you open the Bonnet the reset switch is located on the bulkhead to the right of the engine. Just press the button on top, this is slightly recessed. hope this helps

Just been to Scotland & back in my Td5. Filled up in Farnborough Hampshire, (95 Ltrs) 600 miles later arrived in Inverness with a little to spare, I'll leave the maths up to you .
