well managed to get hold of a gauge pod for the top of the dash and Ive got gauges. Ill have a go this weekend. question, behind the rubber mat on top of the dash there is a thin strip vent!!! does it actually do anything?? no air seems to come out of it no matter where you move the controls...

agree with lazy dog check rear brakes are working properly, done a few now with partially seized rear calipers, it has the effect of over braking on the front causing lock ups. first one I was ready to change the tyres, thought the rubber had gone off every time it was wet or slightly slippery...

Hi, what have you set the pre load to ?? was it consistant from lock to lock or was it loose around the center position and tighter when you moved away from center??

just had same on mine, very scarey violent wobble/shake replaced bushes, cellular steering damper to no avail. adjusted preload on swivels and its cured, adjusted a tad tighter than LR suggest.

had exactly same prob when towing our caravan (cracked head first time and then head gasket 2nd time) tried all of suggestions mentioned above. flushed and flushed rad no sign of any muck coming out. eventually put new rad and new viscous hub on and its never overheated since (2 to 3 years ago)...
