    ok,so i may have found the answer to my particular problem,on the rave CD it says that when the battery is disconected,all hansets must be resynchronised anyone got an idea how this is done?

    doors have been locked all day,cant even open them manually,only tailgate and drvers door open

    well theirin lies my problem,i dont get unlocking of doors,so Land Rover man says door doesn't recognise code,so it could be that doors need re-setting or it's the BECM

    when i enter code what should happen,should doors make a noise,should something come up on display,because after entering code nothing does so i put key in ignition and disabled comes up,so i take key out and try again,after three times have to wait 40 mins and try again

    yep,done all that,windows set,pre-code turninig,after code entered once to the right then put key in and "engine disabledpress remote enter key code"comes up. When i have completed sequence shouldn't doors lock/unlock?mine does nothing'called Land Rover and they have confirmed i have right code

    i have followed everything that has been said,but i think my prob is somthing else,when i re-connect battery nothing happens except "bleep,bleep" with lockout code coming up,landy mechanic says doors should lock but i get nowt,now i cant even open other doors manualy

    i've got the same prob at the mo,done everything one has to do,windows set,eka code sequence put in and car pointing magnetic north,still nothing,so called Land Rover specialist and he tells me that car might not be accepting code,if this is the case then it's the big old BECM that needs...

    so this morning put in newly charged battery,set all windows,waited for "key code lockout to disapear and started eka sequence,completed said sequence and nothing question:if sequence is successful should this activate something i.e locks all syncing or make a noise? any input gratefully...

    yes i will cool off overnight and have another go from fresh tommorow,it did say"engine disabled"when i tried to start it i'd like to meet the twisted little sadist who thought this system up

    progress of sorts,got the windows set,got out of car,had to wait for" key code lock out "to go,then tried sequence,opened door,"press remote" came up on screen,did that but just said "engine disabled",tried again same thing,then "key code lock out" came back! so looks like i'll be at the coal...

    no locks do not operate when i connect battery,the only thing that happens is a bleeping noise telling me "key code lockout" so i wait for that to disapear then try the code sequence only to be told that the windows are not set(whatever the XXXX that means!),so i wind down the windows then back...

    hi,i've got exactly the same problem,battery was dead so re-charged it,put it back in and key lockout comes up,so followed instructions as above but nothing,i dont even get the"chirping",could the BECM or ECU need resetting?

    anyone changed an alternator on a p38 dse?

    Hello,i would be grateful for any info on replacing an alternator on a p38 dse,does any one have experiance with this?,is it easy/hard?,are there special tools needed.I've changed alternators on other vehicles before so i'm not a complete stranger to a tool box.     hi DATATEK,i run a P38 diesel down here in the south of france,very rugged terrain and pot -holed roads so the perfect vehicle I get around 24 to the gallon or 11L/100km,so not bad really when you consider you've got a car that can go anywhere and zip you down to Barcelona in true style
